CURTAIN-POLE BRACKET.

Be it known that LlVILLIAM M. Rossrrnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Sunbury, in the county of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Curtain-Pole Brackets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to a bracket for curtain poles and has for its principal object the production of a bracket which may engage the casing of a window and remain in its correct position without the aid of secondary securing means, so as to efliciently support a curtain pole in a desired position.
Another object of this invention is the production of a curtain pole bracket having an adjustable block which is so formed as to efficiently support a curtain pole so as to allow the curtain pole to bev adjusted relative to the space between the frame and the curtain when desired.
With these and other objects in view this invention consists of certain novel combinations, constructions, and arrangements of parts as will be hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawing: Figure 1 is a front elevation of a pair of the improved brackets, portions of the same being shown in section and illustrating the mannor in which the curtain pole is supported.

Referring to the accompanying drawing by numerals 1 designates the body of the curtain pole bracket which is curved throughout its entire length. The upper portion of the body terminates in a spur 2 adapted to dig into the casing 3 of a window for supporting the bracket. The lower portion of the bracket 1 is curved outwardly as disclosed at 4 so as to rest upon the front face of the casing 3 for holding the bracket in its correct position thereby supporting the body of the bracket at a spaced distance from the window casing 3. The bracket 1 has a plurality of apertures 8 throughout its curved outer portion and through these Specification of Letters Patent.

apertures there extends the set screw 7. This set screw 7 is adapted to engage the block 5 thereby holding the block at a desired point upon the bracket. This block is provided with an enlarged openingfi for the reception of a curtain pole 9 thereby efficiently supporting the curtain pole. By referring to Fig. 2 is will be seen that the curtain is supported by the pole 9 at a considerable distance from the face of the window casing 3. If, however, it is desired to place the curtain nearer to the window casing 3 or for dropping the curtain down a slight degree, the set screw 7 of each bracket may be removed and the block 5 which conforms in contour to the bracket may be moved to the position indicated in dotted lines in Fig. 2 and then by passing the screw 7 through one of the apertures so as to engage the block, the block then will be held in a set position.
From the foregoing description it will be seen that a simple and efficient curtain pole bracket has been produced which is adapted to engage the casing of the window and which is provided with an adjustable block for supporting a curtain pole whereby the curtain pole may be moved to a desired position when necessary.

A curtain pole bracket comprising a bowed body, said body being provided with a spur at its upper portion adapted to dig into a window casing, the lower portion of said bracket being curved to bear against a window casing for supporting the bracket in a spaced relation thereto, said bracket also provided with a plurality of adjustment apertures, a block positioned upon said bracket, said bracket provided with a central pocket adapted to carry a curtain pole, a set screw passing through one of said apertures, and engaging said block for holding the block in an adjusted position upon said bracket.
