COMBINED GARMENT-HANGER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Aug. 25, 1914:.
Application filed. February 25, 1914. Serial No. 820,934.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, STANLEY RATAIcZYK, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Milwaukee, in the county of 'Milwaukee and State of i isconsin, have invented certain new and. useful Improvements in Combined. Garment-Hangers, of which the following is a specification, reference: being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to a combined garment hanger, and has for its object to provide a device of such class, in a'manner as hereinafter set forth, for conveniently supporting trousers and coats.
Further objects of the invention are to provide a hanger for the purpose set forth, which is simple in its construction and arrangement, strong, durable, efficient and convenient in its use, readily set up and comparatively inexpensive to manufacture.
With the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more specifically dc scribed and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein is shown an embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modifications can be resorted to which come within the scope of the claims hereunto appended.
in the drawings wherein like reference characters denote corresponding parts throughout the several views :-Figure 1 is an elevation of a garment hanger in accordance with this invention, and Fig. 2 is a perspective view upon an enlarged scale of one end of the hanger.
Referring to the drawings in detail, 8
denotes a cylindrical rod which constitutes a trouser support and fixedly secured to each end of said rod 1s a split sleeve 4.
The reference character 5 denotes hold-' fast devices for fixedly securing the sleeves to the rod 3.
The sleeves 4 are disposed in opposite directions with respect to each other and project beyond the ends of the rod 3 and each of said sleeves 4 has formed integral therewith two pairs of spaced arms 6 and 7 which extend upwardly at an inclination and project above the rod 3. The pairs of arms 6 and 7 project away from the rod 3 and each pair of arms at its upper terminus is formed into a barrel 8. The pairs of arms 6 and 7 form resilient supporting members for a coat support and the latter consists of a skeleton frame formed from a single length of wire and consisting of a pair of triangular-shaped portions 9, which are oppositely disposed with respect to each other and connected together at their apexes by bending the wire to form a coupling member 10. The base of each of said triangular portions 9 is connected to the barrels 8 of the pairs of arms 6 and 7, carried by the sleeve 4. The coat support further includes a hanger element 11 formed by twisting the wire to extend in a vertical direction and to further extend upwardly from the center of the coupling member 10, and. said hanger element terminates in a hook 12. The coat support in elevation is substantially bow-shaped and in connection with the pairs of arms 6 and 7 forms a resilient support for the coat. The trousers are extended over the bar 8 when it is desired to support them.
What I claim is 1. A garment hanger comprising a rod, a sleeve secured to each end thereof and terminating into two pairs of supporting arms, the arms of each pair forming at their upper termini a barrel, a coat support including a pair of triangular-shaped portions connected to said barrels, and a hanger element connected with said coat support and provided with a hook.
2. A garment hanger comprising a rod, a sleeve secured to each end thereof and terminating into two pairs of supporting arms,
the arms of each pair forming at their upper Copies of this patent may be obtained for five cents each, by addressing the Commissioner a: ia'teiits, Washington, D. C.
