IMPROVEMENT IN STOVE-PIPE SHELV'ES.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, SAMUEL J. ANDERSON, of Cazenova, in the county of Madison and State of New York. have invented a new and useful Improvement in Stove-Pipe Shelf; and I do hereby declare that the followingv is a. full, clear, and exact description l thereof, which willenable others 'skilled in the\ art to make and use the same, reference being'had to the accompanying'drawing forming part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a top view of ni'y improved stove-pipe shelf.

Figure 2 is a vertical cross-section of the same taken through the line a; x, iig. l.

My invention has for its object to furnish'a simple and convenient adjustable stove-pi pe shelf, and which" shall be so constructed as to adapt it -to various-sized stove-pipes; and

v It consists in the shelf and its attachments, constructed as hereinafter more fully described.

A is the shelf, which consists of a light-iron skeletou frame-work, having wires interwoven between its bars. lhe shelf A is vmade in two parts, securely bolted to each other, to adapt it to be conveniently placed around the stove-pipe. rlhe central opening ofthe shelf A is made of the size of the largest stove-pipe upon which it will ordinarily be placed.

To adapt it 'to other smaller pipes a semicireular collar, is formed, the outer edge of which is grooved to tit upon the inner edge of the shelf A, as `Vshown in fig. 2.

Gis a wedge which is placed between the vinner edge of Jthe shelf A and the store-pipeto which said shelf is to be attached, so that the sheltinay be firmly wedged in place by its own weight. This construc tion enables the shelf to be raised and lowered upon the stove-pipe as may-be desired, by simply looseningr the wedge C.

D is a small shelf, which Vmay be made wholly of wire, or by attaching a. net-work of wire to a light oust-iron frame. lhe shelf' D is made with ears, by means of which itV is ,bolted Or Otherwise connected with one of the radial bars Of the frame of the shelf A, so that when required for use it may be turned down into the position shown in iig. 1, and when not required for use. it may be turned up as shown in lig. 2..
