To all whom it may concern .de it known that l, AUSTIN a subject oia the King olf* Great Britain, residing at Asbury Bark, in the county of Monmouth and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Un K declare the following to be a full, clear, an enact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in undergarments, and more particularly to that class of garments known draweni` Plhe object oi' my invention is to provide a garment wherein the opening will remain closed at all times except when the wearer desires it to he opened.
Another object of my invention is to pro- M i vide a garment which will t closely to the hips and limbsat all times, an advantage which is so desirous at the present time, inasmuch as the styles requlre garments fi? which rit closely to the person of the wearer.
A further object of my invention is to provide a garment wherein the overlying portions will lie smooth at all times and will not cause undue wrinkles, etc., which would present an unsightly appearance.

Having thus fully described my invention, what l claim is:
ln combination with an undergarment, comprising a limb receiving portion having a slit on its inner side, flaps formed on the receiving portions areA is secured to the side of tbe limb receiving portion/at tbe l upper extremity of the slit, a second limb receiving portion having a slit adjacent its upper endf flaps extencinfr laterally from l the upper extremities of tie slits, buttons 1 attached to the waist vband of the garment, one of said buttons being positioned adjacent the end of the second mentioned flap,
a button placed substantially in the Center of the garment and a third button attached to the Waist band of the garment substantially l the same distance from the center button as l the Erst mentioned button, the rst menll tioned flap having button-holes adapted to engage the button; a shield having buttonlioles at the upper extremity to engage the aforesaid button, and darts in the lower edge of said shield and adapted to cause sai shield to more closely engage the person of the wearer.
