Description
ditched giant lFRANCIS PUETZ, 0F BUFFALO, NEW YORK. Y
Letters Patent No. 109,941, dated December 6, 1870.
IMPROVEMENT |N BucKu-:s.-
The Scheule referred to in thse Letters Patent and making part of the same.
I, FRANCIS PUETZ, of Buffalo, in thefcounty of I I refer to the drawing, which explains the invention more fully, and which makes part of this specification.
Figure 1 is representing a buckle engaged with `metal strapB; said strap is provided'with a. slothole, LBI, for the purpose of securing it yto harness, leather straps, &c., and with a holo, B2, forv the purpose of making connection to or to engage with the tongue A of buckle A, as plainly seen.
Figure 2 is representing the metal. strap B. It will' be observed that, vas the hole B2 is `of nearly corresponding size to the size of tongue A', therefore, if the strap B is engaged with the tongue of the buckle, it
can be readily disengaged vtherefrom by merely pushing the strap B against the tongue, which will thereby lift up and slip outV of hole B2.
In order to operate or to engage the metal strap B with the tongue of buckle A, it is only required to li't the tongue and then slip the saine through the hole in the end of metal strap B, as seen in the drawing but when the metal strap B is engaged with A and the tongue thereof', the tongue can then be lifted up by'pushing on strap B. B will disengage from the tongue as heretofore already described.
There can be no doubt that thiscompound buckle will be Very practical, durable, and of much service to every person using harness.
Claim.
Having thus fully described my invention,
IVhat I desire to secure by Lett-ers. Patent is The buckle A and metal strap B, constructed and arranged as described and operated, as and for the purposesffset forth.
