IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED CANES AND WHIPS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all 'whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, GoRYnoNL. BUsnxELL, ot Cherry Valley, in the county of Ashtabula and State Figure l is a central vertical section, showing the whip inclosed within the cane.
Figure 2 is a detached yiew, the iron tip having been removed and the whip drawn out.
Figure 3 is a detached central sect-ion, exposing the spring catch.
Figure 4 is a transverse section in liney y of tig. 2.

My invention consists in the combination of a cane and whip in such a manner that the whip can be inclosed within the cane and drawn outfroin the bottom, a spring being introduced in the head of the whip to serve as an additional security to hold it in such position, all of which will be more fully designated and set forth in the following specification andclaim.
In the drawing- A represents the barrel of the cane, constructed sufficiently hollow to allow the whip B to be inclosed therein.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of thc United States, is-
A cane-whip, combining in its construction the barrel A, whip B, tip-thimble D, iron tip E, and spring'- catch F, all substantially as shown and described.
