IMPROVEMENT I N CURTAIN-FIXTURES. t
The Schedule refen-ed to in these Letters Patent and making part of the lame.
To all to whom these presents shall come:
Be it known that I, J AMES LLOYD Omvnn, of Boston, in the county of Suiolkand State of Massachusetts, have made au invention ot' a new and useful Mode of Mounting or Hanging \Vindow-Curtains, or the same and their' rollers; and do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of my invention, due reference being had to the accompanying drawing making part of this specification, and in which- Figure l is an elevation;

Figure 3, a horizontal section of said invention.
This invention has reference to a novel and useful mode of mounting a window-curtain roller, or roller and curtain, whereby the altitude of the saine with respect to the window'is varied and adjusted at pleasure, without interfering with the proper action of its ordinary functions, the purpose ot' suoli an invention being to enable any portion of a window to be left uuobstructed or shaded by the curtain, as the case may be, as well as to allow of free passage of air either above or belowsueh curtain," or at the same time both above and below the saine.

In carrying out my invention in one practical form I aiiix to the inner face of each post b an upright rib or spline, c and c', while sliding upon such ribs Imount two carriers or blocks, f g, the opposite ends of the rollcrh being steppedV or swiveled within these carriers, as exhibited.
Although it may be found in practice that the curtain-roller It will suiice to pioperly connect and secure the carriers j' f/ together, I prefer to unite them by a cross-bar, i, extending across the interior of the window-frame, as shown in the drawing hereto annexed.

Vhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The sliding curtain-roller carriersa fg, connected as described, in combination with the posts b and ribs or splines c c on the inner faces of the same, said parts being arranged for joint operation, as shown and set forth.
