To all whom it may concern Be it linowrl that l, CHARLES l-l.. Casnnoi/r, a citizen of the United States, rcsid ine' at St. Louis, Missouri, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Shirts, of which the followingsy is a full, clear, and exact description, such as will enable others skilled in the art. to which it appertains to make and use the same, reterence being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, inl which- Figure l is a -view of a shirt provided with my improved detachable sleeves. Fig. 2 is a detailed view of one of the detachable sleeves.
This invention relates'to a new and useful improvement in detachable and interchangeable sleeves for shirts, the object being to enable the wearer to remove the sleeve to which the cuit' is attached and which may be designated as the dress sleeve, upon reaching his `place of business in the morning, andl substituting another sleeve, which may be designated a working sleeve, to be worn during working;- hours, whereby the dress sleeve may be kept clean. The working 4sleeve. of course can be laundried separately as Well as the dress sleeves and the body of the shirt used with ditferent sleeves, and vice versa.

I provide tabs 3 which may be. stitched at their upper edges to the seam between the yoke and halt length sleeve so that the lower end will bc free, or said tab may be stitched to the sleeve itself, this tab forininfr a reinforcement for the attachment of the button 4 or other fastening device.
5 is the dress sleeve to which a cuff may be attached, said sleeve being reinforced at its shoulder portion by an extra thick! ness of material 5,'through which is formed a buttonhole G for cooperating` with the button 4. This full dress sleeve may be slipped up over the arm of the wearer and over the half length sleeve and attached in po-l sition by means of buttoning the same to the button 4, the wearer being able to do this without removing his vest.
lVhen the dress sleeve is removed, a working,r sleeve, indicated by dotted lines at 7 in Fig. l, may be buttoned in position, the wearer being able to attach this Working' sleeve also without removing the vest.
