Be it known that we, JOHN H. VOGT and GEORGE DIETZEL, 0f the eity, county, and Stute of New York, have invented a) new and useful Improvement in Hair-Rolls; and we (-10 hereby deelme that the following is a a full, c1ear, and exact description thereof, which Will enable others skilled in the art to nmke und use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part 0f of this specificztt-ion, in which- Figure 1 represents a side view, parbly in section, 0f 0111 improved hair-roll. Fig. 2 is an end view of Ehe immer spring. Fig. 3 is a side view of the Same.

We introduce within the roll A, whieh is made of glazed cobbon 01 other suitable fabric, a spira1 spring, B, whieh is made tapering toward the ends, as shown in Fig. 3, 110 eonform t0 the shapev 0f the roll. This spring, without materially increasing the weight; 0f the roll, retains the same in proper shape and admits fihe use 0f a weaker and lass expensive outer covering than could hitherbo be em- "p1yed.
