This invention relates to the production of new oornets or cornueopias, made of gelatine to be transparent, ot' suitable size. Such transparent cornets are very convenient and desirable for the reception of candies and other small ware. My invention consists in the use of transparent gelatine cornets or cornucopias as new articles of manufacture, and also in the new mode of protecting their tips and large ends by means ot' paper or equivalent fabric.
A in the drawing represents a cornet or cornucopia of suitable size and proportions. Its body is made from a sheet of gelatine, whose edges are overlapped, as in Fig. 3, and gumnied together. The gelatine is made transparent, thin, and pliable, to be readily bent into the required forni, and is tinted in suitable and various colors to i11- crease the beauty ot' manufacture. The tip of the cornet, which could not be nicely tinished and closed when made of gelatine alone, is covered with paper b, as shown. rIhc upper or large end of the cornet is also provided with a paper lining, c, which prevents the edge of gelatine from being exposed and protects it from injury, besides holding the soft paper top d wherewith the cornet, when filled, is closed.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patentl. As a new article of manufacture, a cornet or Cornucopia made of transparent gelatine, as set forth.
2. The transparent gelatine cornucopia or cornet provided with the paper tips b and Lipper lining c, substantially as speciiied.
WILLIAM LOHSE.
