Be it known that we, JOHN H. HOBSON and 'Iuaxv F. MLACKNER, citizens of the United States of America, residing at Pittsburgh, in the county ofAllegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Curtain Poles and Fixtures. of which the following is a specification, referencebeing had therein to the accompanying drawing.

The top wall 2 is provided with V-shaped slits 6 and the slitted material is bent downprovide prongs 7. The flange 4 above the prongs 7 isprovided'with offset portions 8 which permit of the flange being struck with a hammer or 'other'instrument to drive the prongs 7 into or behind the upper edge of a window frame. Theoffset portions 8 preventthe flange 4 from being crushed by a hammer blow, besides facilitating placing the fixture in position.

Cooperating with. the prongs-7 is a pivoted L-shaped clamping arm 9 that is pivotally connected, as at 10 to a lever 11. The lever 11 is pivotally connected to'the face plate 1, as at 12 and is arranged at the said face plate. The lever 11 is limited and guided in its movement by a strap 13, which is formed by pro-- viding the face plate 1, adjacent to theinner edge thereof, with parallel slits and bending the slitted material rearwardly. The lever 11 is bent to extend through a segment-shaped slot 14 adjacent to the pivot thereof and said lever has a handle 15 adapt- -ed to engage teeth 16 forming part of the wall 3. The face plate 1 is cut away,as at 17, a portion of the cut away material bent the wall 3 and then toothed whereby the handle 15 of the lever can be locked in engagement with the wall 3 to hold the clamping arm 9 against the inner edge of a window frame. The clamping arm,- the prongs 7 and.the lever for adjusting the arm 9 constitute means for locking the fixture upon a window frame or other support.
