Description

J. A. ANDERSON. ATTACHMENT FOR POGKETS. APPLICATION FILED rmmo, 1911.
1,066,779, Patented July 8, 1913.
JOHN A. ANDERSON, OF THIEF RIVER FALLS, MINNESOTA.
ATTACHMENT FOR POCKETS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 8, 191.3.
Application filed February 20, 1911. Serial No. 609,625.
To (ZZZ whom it may concern lie it known that I, JouN A. Axnnnson, a citizen of the United States, residing); at Thief River Falls, in the county of Pennington and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Attachments for iloekels, of which the following: is a specification.
This invention relates to attaclunents for pockets and more particatlarly to an attachment especially adapted for use in the concealial pockets sometimes provided in ladies mutl's.
The object of the device is to a ll'ord a means for retaining within, the mull pocket small toilet articles such as a pocket mirror or tooth brush, etc.
lVith the foregoing and other objects in view the invention consists in the combimttion and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter fully described in the following specil'ication, pointed out in the claim and illustrated in the accompanying drawing. which forms a part of said specification and in which- Figure 1 is a side elevation of a mu'li' with pocket therein in which. my attachment is employed. Fig. 2 is a section on line 22 of Fig. 1. Fig :3 is a side elevation of the attachment prop-er. part of the same being broken away. Fig. t is a vertical section taken on line tl of Fig. 3.
Like reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
Many ladies mulls are provided with pockets of one kind or another for eonvenience in carrying a handkerchief or other small article. This attachment is designed for use in connection with this style of pocket.
2 is a muff having a pocket formed in the lining 3 thereof. My attachment comprises a sack which is sewed or otherwise suitably secured within the mutt lining and which Copies of this patent may be obtained for cmnprises parallel top and bottom members "1; and 5 respectively, lateral members (3 and an end member 7 to which the other members are fastened thus forming a sack, the opposite. end of which is open and resides adjacent the mouth of the Inuit pocket. 'lhis attachment should be made of a suitable still' fabric and to give the same greater rigidity stays 7 are secured upon the lateral members (5 and the top and bottom members -land An elastic 9 is provided on the end member T to which a tooth brush handle, small pocket mirror or otlu 'articlc may be secured. This arrangement permits the wearer of the mult' to carry articles of this nature concealed and in the case of the mirror shown in the drawings the same may be drawn out of the pocket by a suitable cord allixed to one end thereof and when the cord is released the elastic will draw the mirror back into the pocket. 'lhis attaclnnent gives l'lflltllld' to the mull pocket thus overcoming the one objectionable feature of this style of pocket and its use also avoids crushing or crumplin of articles that may be placed in the pocket.
\Yhat l claim is-- In a mull provided with a ')ocket in its lining, stillening means for said pocket disposed therewithin and an elastic tongue disposed within said pocket secured to the base thereof and adapted for contact with a toilet arti 1-le carried in said pocket to retain said article therewithin when not in use.
In testin'lony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto allixed my signature in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
JOHN A. ANDERSON.
