TOILET AND MANIGURE CASE.

UNITED STATES PATENT FFTCE.
JOHN JEREMIAH MOLAIN DAWSON, OF VIROQUA, WISCONSIN.
TOILET AND IVIANICURE CASE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Dec. 26, 1905.
Application filed October 12, 1904. Serial No. 228,243.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN JEREMIAH MCLAIN DAWSON, a citizen of the United States, resid ing at Viroqua, in the county of Vernon and State of Wisconsin, have invented a new and useful Toilet and Manicure Case with a Card and Mirror Holder Attached, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in the secure holding either of a card or a mirror in a pocket toilet and manicure case, which improvement admits of the card or mirror beingreadilyinserted or removed without either injury to the case or the card or the mirror. I attain these objects by the use of the pockets illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a view of my pocket-case folded ready for the pocket or hand-bag. Fig. 2 shows the case open, part of the mirror or card being broken away to show more clearly the flap underneath; Fig. 3, a section on line w 4r of Fig. 2, showing card or mirror in place and the position of flap when card or mirror is in proper place.
The article consists of a leather case made up of a back piece A, of leather or other suitable material, provided on its upper front face with pockets eand f for cards and change. On its lower front face are placed a series of pockets for various toilet and manicure articles. These pockets are made by attaching a single piece of soft leather cl to the front of the piece A and dividing it into suitable compartments by stitching. The front E of the pocket 6 is provided with four diagonal slits a a and a a, and a slit (4 a, extending between and running into the two slits a, forming a flap 9. A card or mirror may be attached to the-front of E by inserting it from the rear through the slit (4 a and underneath the flap 9 until the lower corners enter the diagonal slits a a, when the flap 9 may be thrust back of the mirror, leaving the latter securely held in the diagonal slits, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3. The snap-fastener (marked 1)) is made with a small hole through its back, permitting the case when open, as shown in Fig. 2, to be hung up. There is a pocket just back of the card and mirror pocket with a snap-fastener at top, (marked 0.) This fastener holds pocket closed and prevents the contents of pocket from losing out while case is handled or carried in pocket or hand-bag. The entire case forms a complete coin and folding bill-book, as well as a pocket toilet and manicure case.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A pocket-case having an inside pocket one side of which is provided with four diagonal slits adapted to receive the corners of a card or mirror, said side also having a flap under which said card or mirror may be inserted, said flap being formed bya slit a at extending from the inner end of one diagonal slit to the inner end of an adjacent diagonal slit, substantially as described and shown.
