Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Mar. 18, 1913.
Application'filed April 10, 1911. Serial No. 620,247.
To all whom 2'25 may concern Be it known that l, HANNAH MURRAY MoCAnnroK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pittsburgh, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tie-Slipping Devices, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in tie slipping devices and has for its object to provide a means by which a tie will be made to slide easily in a turn over collar.
With the above and other objects in view I have invented the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which,
Figure l is a perspective view of a collar having my device shown therein in dotted lines, Fig. 2 is a sideelevation of the device. Fig. 3 is a fragmental View show ing a portion of a collar, a portion of a tie and a portion of my tic slipping device, and Fig. 4 is a cross sectional view on the line A-A. of Fig. 1.
Referring to the accompanying drawings 1 indicates a turn over collar in which a tie slipping device 2, is held by means of hooks S and 4% between the folds thereof. The de vice 2 is provided with .two longitudinal slots 5 and 6 in which buttons 7 are adapted to slide. These buttons are provided with enlarged smooth and polished surfaces 8, which abut the inner surface ofthe inner fold 9 of the collar and slide easily thereagainst. These buttons are also provided with prongs 10 which project into the tie ll and hold the tie and buttons securely together when in a collar. The hooks 3 and 4, are adapted to engage the buttonholes v12 of a collar and the recess 13 inthe memher 2, which member is glazed so as to prevent friction between it and the tie, is adapted to rest upon the usual collar button which engages the button hole 14, thus the device is held in. place in the fold of the collar.
The hooks 3 and 4 are very small and do not interfere with the ordinary use of the button holes 12. When the tie is secured in place to the device by means of the 'buttons 7 it may he slipped around with the greatest ease. I claim and desire to Patent 1. A band adapted to seat between the folds of a collar, hooks on the ends of said secure; by Letters I band adapted to engage the button holes of said collar, means on saidband for engaging a tie, said means consisting of a device having a flat head and prongs adapted to fix it to a tie.
2. A. band adapted to seat between the folds of a collar, hooks on the ends of said band adapted to engage the button holes of said collar, means on said band for engaging a tie, said means consisting of a device having a fiat head and prongs adapted to fixit to a tie, said band having slots therein in which the device is adapted to slide.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two'witnesses.
