`The Schedule referred to`inthese Letters Patent and making part cf the same collar 4will lie fiat and smooth against the back aud against the breast of the body.
The breast-flaps are so shaped that they join at their bottom ends, leaving the front ot` the collaropcn, as shown in fig. 1 ofthe drawing.A
'lo one of the breast-aps, however, is attached a protecting-flap, 1,(see figs. 2 and 3,) which can be turned undithe` breast-flap, leaving the front of the collar open, as shown in iig. 1, or which can be turnedA out, so as to close the front ot' the collar, as shownm fig. 3. By these means a fur collar is obtained iwliich can be worn open' or closed, according to the existing temperaturefguul which, on account of its peculiar pattern, fits nicely to the body of the person wearing the same. y
