The object of the invention is to provide an improved garment in the nature of'a combined skirt and bloomers wherein the bloomers may be secured, permanently or temporarily and adjustably, to the inner face of the bottom of the skirt and normally extending 'from the skirt when the combined garment is not in use but adapted to receive the limbs of the wearer and to be secured thereto at or about the knee, whereby, when theskrt is adjusted and supported from the waist or otherwise, the -bloomers will be inverted and will form the inside, of apocket, of which the. skirt will form the outside, to Areceive and protect the lower` ends orbottoms of the underskirts and protect them from soiling and wea-r. n Incidentally, the skirt, or the bloomers, on both may be made of waterproof material,l if desire In order that the construction and operation thereof may be readily comprehended, I have illustrated an embodiment of my invention in the accompanying drawing, in which* l Figure 1 represents a perspective view of a combined garment made in accordance with my invention, being illustrated in the form it assumes when hung up, out of use, and ready to be pulled upon the wearer. A in'd'mates a skirt made of any approved ma terial and shape according to the prevailin or any desired pattern, to suit the taste an -means of the wearer, in some instances being preferably made of a fine gradeof waterproof material, the skirt being intended to differ in no wise in appearance from an ordinary skirt Anot provided with the other parts comprised in my invention, which are concealed by the skirt when inuse. f

The waist A of the skirt is shown as open on its opposite sides, being provided -w'ith snap but-tons l to hold such openings closed and with take'up or adjusting straps 2-and 3 at the front and rear to permit of the adjustment of the y waist line to suit the wearer. r

I have providedmeans, as\i1lustr`atedzin Fig. K3, for temporarily and removably attaching'the bloomers to the skirt, comprising snap buttons v1,2, or similar fastening devices carried by the skirt and blobmers.

l In lorder that the bloomers may bc secured l at` dierent heights to the skirt, I have provided a plurality of rows of one of the l members of fastening devices, such as snap buttons or the like, on one of the garments, as at b, on the skirt, to be engaged by\a single row of the members of such fastening devices, such as at a on the bloomers. By this means, the bottom of the pocket 9 formed by the bloomers, can always be adjusted to prevent it hanging below the botof the various parts, i will be lobvious to those skilled in the art to vvhich the inven-` tion appertains, that slight changes therein, or variations therefrom, may be made without departing from'the Spirit and scope of the invention. f

what I claim as new. and desire to secure by Letters Patentgof theUnited States isl. A device of the character described :comprising a skirt having a waist band, and

means for adjusting the length of. the waist band, a pair of bloomers attached in an invertedposition tothe inside of the bottom of the skirt, knee bands at the extremities of the legs of the bloomers, means for admeans for securing the knee bands'of the bloomers to the undergarments of the wearer. A

2. A device of the character described comprising a skirt `and a pair of bloomers removably and adjustably connected to the inner side of the skirt near the bottom thereof.

A combined garment of the character described comprising two members to wit; a skirt and a pair of vbloomers, a series of horizontal rows of one of the members of a fastening device attached to one of the members of the combined garment, and a single horizontal row of the other member of the fastening device attached to the other member of the combined garment and adapted to LILLIAN M. sAvAGE-- Witnesses y E.
