A furthenpbject of this invention is to provide meansl for detachably securing rings to the hames' soy that the said invention can lbe employed on hames now in coml H1011 USB.

Another object of the invention is to provide new haines with the attachment for securing spreader rings.

With the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists in the details of constructiom'and in the` arrangement and combination of parts to be hereinafter more fully set forth and claimed.

In describingthe invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings forming part of this specification means for' connecting the ring to the haine, and in which form 1 have shown a strap 11 terminating in a tongue 12, the said strap having its body or larger portion providedl with a slot13 at the' end containing the tongue and an aperture 14 at the .Opposite end. Upon the body ofthe strap 11 is a' retaining strip 15 having its ends secured to the strap 11 bythe rivets' 16 the intermediate ining the rlng 17, whereby the rlng is free toswing between the strip and the body of the strap as shown in Fig. 3. For the purpose of yfastening the 'strap on the top 7al of the hame, the body of the strap is caused to encircle the top of the haine and the tongue of the strap is inserted in the aperture 14 the end of the strapthe said tongue being then inserted in the slot 13 between the strap and the cap of the hame where it is held against displacement owing to the rigidity of the layer of material from which the strap 11 is formed.' By reason of this arrangement of parts the strap can be secured in place without the use of buckles and it has been found in practice that the said strap will be held against dislodgment by reason of the interlocking connection between the tongue and the strap.

I claim- In combination with a hame top and the knob on one extremity thereof, a detachable ring securing member comprising a strap, said strap comprising a body portion and a tongue portion,1 the body portion bering provided with an' elongated opening near the base of the tongue, and a relatively square opening in the opposite extremity. thereof, a retaining strip riveted to the central portion of the body, said retaining strip adapted to support a ring, and the said detachable ring supporting member adapted to be attached vto the upper portion of a hame top directly under the said knob.
