Description

用於管理及使用電腦生成文件中之資料的方法及電腦可讀媒體
本發明係關於在各不同電腦生成文件上管理資料。更特言之，本發明係相關於一電腦生成文件之各部件(component)的使用與管理。
隨著電腦時代的來臨，電腦以及軟體使用者已經逐漸習慣於可協助接著撰寫、計算、組織化、準備簡報、傳送及接收電子郵件、製作音樂等等之方便使用者操作的軟體應用程式。例如，現代電子文書處理應用程式則允許使用者能準備各種樣式的有用文件。現代試算表應用程式則允許使用者輸入、操縱以及組織資料。現代電子幻燈片簡報應用程式則允許使用者建立包含文字、照片、資料或其他有用物件的各式幻燈片簡報。
一般將困難於在任何應用程式上而非產生該文件之應用程式上使用這種應用程式所建立的各文件。大多數電腦生成文件包含許多資料或資訊流，例如文字、表單、照片、插入物件等等，但普遍產生這些文件的各應用程式不能將該等文件分成個別的資訊流。使用者通常傾向於使用非產生該文間之應用程式來使用或操作這種文件。例如，使用者通常傾向於能重新使用一文件中之一部份或做出對該文件中之一部份的改變而不需開啟該整個文件。尤其在將各文件儲存在能夠獲用於在協同環境下工作之多重使用者的共享集合中之案例將更可見此傾向的重要性。
從而，亟需一種改良式的方法及系統以供能在橫跨不同類型的應用程式下管理以及使用資料。而本發明亦針對上述及其他考量而加以實作。
本發明之具體實施例係透過提供用於將一電腦生成文件分成數個資料部件或數個資料部分的方法或系統而解決上述及其他問題，其中該資料的各部件或部份彼此具有明確的關係。一使用者可接著在該資料的各部件或部份之間導航(navigate)該等關係，藉以迅速瞭解該文件的本質以及包含該文件的各部件以及資料。對一使用者來說所喜愛之該文件的特定各部件或部分將可簡易地被定位。此外，該使用者可開啟、編輯以及重新使用除了該文件之剩餘部分以外之該文件的各特定部分且毋須開啟或編輯該文件。

如前所簡述，本發明之具體實施例係關於用於將一電腦生成文件分成數個資料或其他內容之各部件或部分以及用於建立該文件之各個部件間各關係的系統及方法以供允許一使用者能迅速決定該文件之構成與允許處理及重新使用獨立於彼此外之該文件的各部件。在不悖離本發明之範疇及精神下，本發明將可結合各種實施例、利用其他的具體實施例以及做結構化的改變。以下較詳盡的描述說明將不可引為對本發明的限制，本發明的範疇將應由隨附的申請專利範圍或均等物來定義。
現請參考圖式(其中在整個圖式中相同數字表示相同元件)，將說明本發明之特點及範例性操作環境。第1圖與以下討論係意於提供一可實作本發明之適合計算環境的簡要綜述。雖然本發明將在結合於個人電腦上運作之應用程式執行的程式模組的一般脈絡中加以描述，該等熟習此項技術人士應瞭解本發明也可結合其他程式模組實作。

現請參考第1圖，其顯示用於實現本發明各種具體實施例之個人電腦2的一範例性電腦架構。第1圖中所示之電腦架構示範一習知個人電腦，包括一中央處理單元4(CPU)、一系統記憶體6(包括一隨機存取記憶體(RAM)8及一唯讀記憶體(ROM)10)、及一耦合該記憶體至處理單元4的系統匯流排12。一含有基本常式的基本輸入/輸出系統通常係儲存於ROM 10內，基本常式協助在該電腦內之元件間傳送資訊(諸如在開機時)。個人電腦2更包括一大量儲存裝置14，用於儲存一操作系統16、應用程式(諸如應用程式205)及資料。

依據本發明之各種具體實施例，個人電腦2可在一經由TCP/IP網路18(諸如網際網路)使用邏輯連接至遠端電腦之網路化環境中操作。個人電腦2可經由連接至系統匯流排的一網路介面單元20連接至TCP/IP網路18。應瞭解網路介面單元20也可用以連接至其他型式之網路及遠端電腦系統。個人電腦2也可包括一輸入/輸出控制器22，用以接收且處理來自一些裝置(包括未顯示的一鍵盤與滑鼠)之輸入。同樣的，一輸入/輸出控制器22可提供輸出至一顯示螢幕、一印表機或其他型式之輸出裝置。
如以上綜述，一些程式模組及資料檔案可儲存在個人電腦2之大量儲存裝置14及RAM 8中，包括一適於控制一網路化個人電腦之操作的操作系統16，諸如來自美國華盛頓州Redmond之微軟公司的WINDOWS作業系統。大量儲存裝置14及RAM 8也可儲存一或多個應用程式。尤其是，大量儲存裝置14及RAM 8可儲存一應用程式205，用於提供一各式的功能予一使用者。例如，應用程式205可至少包含一文書處理應用程式、一試算表應用、一連絡應用及其類似者。根據本發明之一具體實施例，該應用程式205包含用於提供來自數個不同應用程式之功能的一多重功能軟體應用程式套裝。包括該應用程式205的特定個別程式模組可包含文書處理應用程式125、幻燈片簡報應用程式135、試算表應用程式140及資料庫應用程式145。一例如一多重功能應用程式套裝205的例子可為微軟公司所製造的OFFICE。在第1圖中所說明之其他軟體應用程式可包含一電子郵件應用程式130。

仍參照於第2圖，該文件220表示一由各式部件所構成的組成文件，而各式部件中之各者可根據不同格式型態來產生，並且該各式部件之各者亦可具有數個應用屬性(applied properties)。舉例來說，該文件220可包含文字物件225，而其可由一文字處理應用程式、試算表應用程式、幻燈片簡報應用程式、文字編輯程式等等來產生。該試算表物件或部件235係表示一圖表或其他試算表表單或目錄，而其可自一獨立的試算表文件被嵌入於該文書處理文件220。該幻燈片簡報物件或部件240係為一可自一幻燈片簡報應用程式文件被嵌入於該文書處理文件。
各個嵌入於第2圖所述之該文書處理文件中的各獨立部件係已經由一獨立軟體應用程式所產生。如此，各個部件可具有與該用於針對其產生之相異應用程式相關的不同格式類型。此外，數個不同的格式屬性，例如風格、表單類型以及字型，可由其個別產生的應用程式來被施加至各個該文件之物件或部件。
第3圖係為一簡化的方塊圖，其係描述出顯示一文件之各部件間之軟體應用程式以及一檔案容器之間的一關係。根據本發明之各具體實施例，一電腦生成文件220(例如第2圖所示之文書處理文件)可被分成構成該文件之各部份或部件，並且組成該文件之各個各式部件或部分係在一主要檔案容器中儲存成獨立部件。
如第3圖所示，一多重應用程式套裝205係描述用以操作關於包含一文件之各部件的一主要檔案容器300，其中該文件可例如第2圖所示之文書處理文件220。該多重應用程式套裝205可包含數個相異的應用程式，例如文書處理應用程式、試算表應用程式、幻燈片簡報應用程式、一資料庫應用程式等等。
綜上所簡述，根據本發明之各具體實施例，當一文件(例如第2圖所描述之該文件220)係組合及呈現成一各部件的集合，該文件的各部件(例如文字物件、試算表物件、幻燈片簡報物件、格式化物件等等)係被分成儲存在該主要容器300中之個別物件。根據本發明之一具體實施例，該主要檔案容器300可按一zip檔案的形式。因此，非具有將該文件所有部件儲存成一單體實體，該文件係被分成構成該問件之各獨立部件，其中該等部件中之各者彼此具有明確的關係。如第3圖所示，該文書處理文件220係描述成具有一格式屬性物件245、試算表部件或物件235、幻燈片簡報部件或物件240以及該文字部件225的一關係。
如此中所指，一文件之各部件間的一關係係定義一文件中兩特定部件間的一連接。一部件被稱做“來源”關係，而其他部件係被稱做“目標”關係。各關係具有特定“類型”，且其描述它們在該文件中所扮演的角色(例如，一關係類型可被使用以連接一圖表至一文字的片段)。在一文件之各部件間的各關係之例子包含可按一如其他方向簡易的一方向來行旅的雙向關係。該種雙向關係可省略了來源部件以及目標部件之間的不同點。其他例子中各部件之間的關係可允許多重目標或多重來源。在另一其他例子中，各關係可包含指出儲存在一文件外部之各部件的關係(例如，一文書處理文件可具有儲存在一網頁伺服器之一照片的一關係)。其他關係可包含攜帶額外資料(僅來源、目標以及類型以外)的關係。此種“額外資料”的例子包含允許清楚參照一特定關係的一惟一識別。又在另一例子中，各關係可指出其他關係。其他例子關係可攜帶關於一目標部件之一“子部件“或”子集合”，其指出例如試算表ABC之儲存格B3而非僅指出該試算表ABC的一關係。
當在該文件之各部件中導覽時，一關於一給定文件之各部件的部件“類型”允許有效尋到該文件之各特定部件。該部件“類型”(如上所述)將不識別一特定部件之內容的類型，但是反而該關係類型識別一給定部件的一父類部件如何使用該部件。也就是說，其係為實際上識別該部件之該部件的內容類型。例如，一文件之一影像部件，該關係類型可為“影像”，但是關於該部件之內容類型可為“JPEG”或“GIF”。

此外，如該主要文件之各獨立部件可被開啟、運用或處理，該等部件之各者將相同地被重新使用在其他應用文件。例如，如果期望使用該試算表部件235於一不同文件，可簡單存取該部件並且拷貝至一不同文件。
本發明之此等具體實施例矽特定有用於一協同工作環境。舉例說明，如果該文書處理程式220係正由一行銷組織之一共同代理主席所產生，該嵌入物件，例如該行銷圖表物件235以及該幻燈片簡報圖240可另隔於該主要文件220由該組織之各員工所產生。該等所產生的物件之各者可為維持在一共享工作空間(例如在一大型組織上之一伺服器)上之各獨立部件之部分。從而，構成該文件之該個別部件的作者/編輯者可存取該等部件以做出編輯或改變。
例如，該文書處理文件220之作者/編輯者期望將該幻燈片簡報圖物件240呈現成一圓餅圖來取代一曲線圖。根據本發明之各具體實施例，該文書處理文件220之作者/編輯者，或負責該物件240之另一者可使用一獨立應用程式來啟動該物件240並且對該物件240做出改變，以致使該物件之簡報係按相對於一曲線圖格式的一圓餅圖格式。根據本發明之各具體實施例，由於該主要文件220有一具有該幻燈片簡報物件之明確的關係以及因為該主要文件220指向該幻燈片簡報部件或物件240，啟動該文書處理文件220的下次，該幻燈片簡報圖物件240將會在該文書處理文件220中呈現成一圓餅圖來取代第2圖所示之一曲線圖。因此，一協同工作環境或團隊之相異成員可存取一給定文件之不同部件以供對該等部件做出個別或整體的改變。
因於該主要文件(例如，該文書處理文件220)可利用一高度結構格式化語言(例如該可延伸標記語言XML)來格式化，開啟、利用以及編輯個別部件的能力亦為重要。例如，該主要文件之一作者/編輯者可施加複雜的XML標記結構至該文書處理文件220。根據本發明之各具體實施例，將可存取以及編輯該文件之各部件而不需開啟該主要文件以及潛在地篡改或改變該主要文件之高度結構的本質。

根據本發明之各具體實施例，當啟動該主要文件以供顯示或編輯時，將該所指向之各部件合併已該主要文件，藉以允許顯示或編輯該主要文件。即如可個別存取及編輯該等部件之各者，可將此等部件之各者編輯成該主要文件之部分，以及對於在該主要文件中所構成之個別部件的編輯或改變可被傳遞回該個別部件，用以當作出該主要文件的編輯時即時更新該等個別部件。
如上所綜述，當產生該主要文件並儲存成一各獨立部件的集合時，在一關係表示中建立該等部件與該主要文件間以及該等部件之各者之間的各明確關係。第4圖係為一簡化的方塊圖，其描述根據本發明具體實施例之一文件之各部件之間的各明確關係。如應所能瞭解，第4圖中所示之該階層式關係表示係為在一主要文件之各部件間之一較複雜的關係表示，而即如在第3圖中所示之主要檔案容器中所描述的關係。

相同地，如果一使用者欲對關於該第二幻燈片物件或部件430做出一文字檔案的改變，該使用者可快速導航該階層式關係表示以決定該文字檔案物件或部件435係明確地被關聯至該第二物件或部件430。使用一文書處理應用程式或文字編輯應用程式，該使用者可啟動該文字檔案物件或部件435以對該文字檔案做出改變。一旦接著啟動關於該文件容器400之該主要文件(例如一幻燈片簡報文件)，該對該文字部件435所做出的改變將會被自動保持在該相關的幻燈片部件430。因此，該文字物件或部件435之編輯者已影響對該文字檔案的改變而無任何針對該文字檔案所相關聯之該幻燈片物件430之結構的改變。

Claims (12)

  1. 一種用於管理一電腦生成文件之部件的方法，該方法包含以下步驟：藉由一電腦將一文件之複數個部件組合成在一電子檔案容器中之一獨立部件集合，其中該複數個部件僅位於該電子檔案容器中，該複數個部件包含構成該文件之資料物件，該等資料物件包含一文本物件、一試算表物件、一展示物件以及一格式物件中之二或更多者，其中該等資料物件具有不同格式類型與至少一個應用性質；產生該文件之一關係表示，藉以顯示一或多個部件之各者如何關聯於其他部件，其中該關係表示包含該文件中之該複數個部件之二或更多者間之一關係，且其中該關係中之該複數個部件之二或更多者之至少一者係為一親代部件，其中該關係包含一關係類型，該關係類型識別該親代部件如何使用該關係中之該複數個部件之二或更多者之至少一者，其中該親代部件包含一影像部件，其中用於該影像部件之該關係類型包含一影像，且其中關於該影像部件之一內容類型包含一影像檔案類型；基於該任何相關部件間的一關係而建立該獨立部件集合的任何相關部件間之一鏈結；根據該電子檔案容器的選擇，提供該部件集合的一視覺化表示以及提供該部件集合之各個部件如何關聯於該部件集合之其他部件的一視覺化表示；以及 根據選擇來自該部件集合之該視覺化表示中之該文件之一個部件的一視覺化表示，藉由啟動關於該所選視覺化表示的該所選部件來提供該文件之一個部件之關於該所選視覺化表示的該文件之一部件之存取，該所選部件包含一不同應用程式，該不同應用程式不同於用於啟動該電子檔案容器中之該文件之一應用程式，並允許該所選部件之編輯，以改變單獨於該文件之其他部件之該所選部件，並使得當用於啟動該電子檔案容器中之該文件之該應用程式重啟時，該所選部件使用該不同應用程式之該改變係呈現在該電子檔案容器中。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之方法，進一步包含以下步驟：允許運用關於該所選視覺化表示的該所選部件，其中該運用之步驟包括允許將關於該所選視覺化表示的該所選部件複製至一不同的文件之步驟。

  5. 一種用於管理一電腦生成文件之部件的方法，該方法包含以下步驟：藉由一電腦將該分件分開成複數個包含該文件之部件；將該文件之該複數個部件之各者在一電子檔案容器中組合，其中該複數個部件之各者僅位於該電子檔案容器中，該複數個部件包含構成該文件之資料物件，該等資料物件包含一文本物件、一試算表物件、一展示物件以及一格式物件中之二或更多者，其中該等資料物件具有不同格式類型與至少一個應用性質；呈現該文件之部件間的一關係，藉以顯示該文件之一或更多個部件之各者如何關聯於該文件之其他部件，其中藉由該文件中之該複數個包含該文件之部件之二或更多者間之一關係來表示該關係，且其中該關係中之該複數個部件之二或更多者之至少一者係為一親代部件，其中該關係包含一關係類型，該關係類型識別該親代部件如何使用該關係中之該複數個部件之二或更多者之至少一者，其中該親代部件包含一影像部件，其中用於該影像部件之該關係類型包含一影像，且其中關於該影像部件之一內容類型包含一影像檔案類型；在啟動該文件之後，隨即根據該文件之該等部件之各者間的關係，合併該文件之該等部件的各者；以及 根據在該電子檔案容器中組合之該文件之一個部件的選擇，啟動該所選部件以允許該所選部件之編輯，以改變除了該文件之其他部件之外的該所選部件，並使得當用於啟動該電子檔案容器中之該文件之該應用程式重啟時，該所選部件使用該不同應用程式之該改變係呈現在該電子檔案容器中，其中一不同應用程式不同於用於啟動該電子檔案容器中之該文件之一應用程式，該不同應用程式用於啟動該所選部件。
  6. 如申請專利範圍第5項所述之方法，當呈現該文件之部件間的一關係並藉以顯示該文件之一或更多個部件之各者如何關聯於該文件之其他部件時，根據該文件之各部件間之一關係建立該文件之各個部件間之一鏈結。
  7. 如申請專利範圍第6項所述之方法，更包含以下步驟：將該文件之一或更多個部件儲存於獨立於該文件之其他部件的一或更多個位置。
  8. 如申請專利範圍第5項所述之方法，更包含以下步驟：在選擇該電子檔案容器中所組合之該文件的一個部件時，啟動該所選部件以允許單獨於該文件之其他部件的該所選部件之編輯。
