515721 五、發明說明(1 ) 發明背景 1 .發明之範園 本發明係關於供給一種流體(例如計量數量治療呼吸道 疾病之單位劑量)之裝置、系統和方法。特別,本發明係關 於可拋棄式之氣溶膠產生器,其中氣溶膠係經由氣化而產 生。 2 .相關技藝之敘述 氣溶膠使用於各種應用中包括治療呼吸道疾病。用以 產生氣溶膠之各種技術揭示於下列各美國專利案 中:4,811,731 ;4,627,432;5,743,25 1 及 5,823,178 等。 特別地,已發展出輸送氣溶膠形式之藥物流體之兩種不 同方法。依照一種方法,將醫藥上活性藥物分配在經裝載 入加壓罐中之低沸點推進劑(例如含氯氟烴(CFC )或(HFA )) 中,自其中,可將藥物/推進劑調配物經由使用通常稱爲計 量劑量吸入器予以放釋。一旦經放釋,推進劑即蒸發而藥 物的粒子則由病患吸入。另種方法包括使用噴霧器其自藥 物的溶液或懸浮體中造成細粒子的可吸入之霧。兩種方法 經由與供給適量劑量有關之顯著問題而受到妨礙。 在藥物輸送應用方面,典型需要提供具有小於2微米的 平均質量中値之直徑的氣溶膠而便利於深肺滲透。另外, 在某些藥物應用方面,需要以高流速(即,每秒鐘超過1毫 克)來輸送藥物。用以控制氣溶膠流速之裝置係熟知。舉 例而言,美國專利案第4,790,303號係關於經由塡充第一 515721 五、發明說明(2) 室以藥物及第二室以空氣而控制用以輸送至支氣管壁和細 支氣管壁之計量氣溶膠劑量的粒子大小以致使在吸入藥物 前吸入所有的空氣,並使用流量控制孔來控制流速。美國 專利案第4,92 6,852號係關於計量藥物的劑量進入流經室 中,此室具有限制流速之孔口來控制粒子大小,美國專利案 第3,658,059號揭示一種擋板,其改變被吸入之懸浮體的 通道中,孔徑之大小來選擇所輸送之粒子的數量和大小。 與此等裝置相關聯之問題係,在產生它後彼等處理氣溶膠 且係不充分和浪費。 爲了滿足以氣溶膠形式供給流體之要求及克服先前技 藝的各種缺點,本發明的目的是提供一種氣溶膠產生器,其 在受控制之流速下將流體氣化,且不管流體之粘度如何。 本發明的另外目的係獲得自氣溶膠產生器所排出之流 體的均句氣化。 本發明的另外目的在提供可輸送計量劑量的流體之可 拋棄式之氣溶膠產生器。經由輸送個別單一劑量的藥物流 體,可能避免流體之污染,藉以不須要添加制菌化合物在藥 物調配物中。 本發明尙有另外目的在提供一種可拋棄式之芯筒其可 倂合具有許多可拋棄式之氣溶膠產生器在其中包裝,視使 用人之需要,每一者提供單發輸送。 本發明的其他目的和觀點於閱讀說明書、圖式及所附 隨之申請專利範圍後將爲通常精於此項技藝之人士顯然可 515721 五、發明說明(3) 見。 發明槪要 根據本發明之一個觀點,提供可拋棄式之氣溶膠產生器 其適應於連同一種吸入器裝置而使用,它包括一具加熱器 經配置來將存儲在可拋棄式之氣溶膠產生器中之流體揮 發。該氣溶膠產生器包括具有一個密封室和一個出口之可 拋棄式之本體,其中第一和第二層的材料界定該室。該室 容納預定體積的流體,當室中之流體經由加熱器予以揮發 時,流體被驅出通過出口。 根據本發明之另外觀點,提供一種吸入裝置可連同上述 之可拋棄式之氣溶膠產生器而使用,吸入器裝置包括一具 加熱器經配置來加熱室中之流體以便自出口驅出所揮發之 流體。加熱器可包括一層的電阻材料在基體上,其包括經 定位接鄰出口之一個開口。爲了形成該出口,可提供一種 開啓裝置例如刺穿元件,其適應於刺穿第一及/或第二層而 形成出口。 根據本發明的另外觀點,提供使用上文所述及之吸入裝 置之方法,該方法包括切斷第一及/或第二層以便形成出口 及將加熱器起動以便揮發室中之流體及驅送所揮發之流體 通過出口。 根據較佳之方法,該可拋棄式之本體包括一系列的相間 隔之氣溶膠產生器而該方法包括:相對於吸入器裝置,移動 可拋棄式之本體以便將第一個氣溶膠產生器定位在一個位
