用於織物及非編織應用之傳統黏合劑含有N-羥甲基丙烯醯胺(NMA)作為官能性單體,其為黏合劑提供極佳的抗水性(濕強度)及溶劑抗性(異丙醇強度)。然而,含NMA黏合劑在加熱時釋放甲醛。
近年來,存在關於無甲醛交聯技術之大量研究。此等交聯技術在固化之後獲得良好抗水性及溶劑抗性,但與含NMA黏合劑相比仍然不具競爭力。
期望研發具有中等固化溫度以獲得更好效能之新穎調配物。

在本揭示案中,在含羥基之丙烯酸黏合劑系統中引入多元酸聚合物水性分散液,其可固化為網狀結構且帶來極佳效能。在150℃下,自交聯系統展示極佳濕強度及IPA強度。根據本揭示案之調配物展示極佳儲存穩定性。在50℃烘箱中加速熱老化30天之後,效能未降低。因此,根據本揭示案之調配物可為單組分調配物且易於處理。

多元酸聚合物水性分散液
多元酸聚合物含有50重量%至100重量%、較佳60重量%至100重量%、更佳70重量%至100重量%、最佳80重量%至100重量%之一種或多種烯系不飽和單或二羧酸/酸酐。適合的烯系不飽和單或二羧酸/酸酐包含例如烯系不飽和羧酸單體,諸如甲基丙烯酸、丙烯酸、巴豆酸、反丁烯二酸、順丁烯二酸、2-甲基順丁烯二酸、伊康酸、2-甲基伊康酸、α,β-亞甲基戊二酸、順丁烯二酸單烷基酯及反丁烯二酸單烷基酯;烯系不飽和酸酐,諸如順丁烯二酸酐、伊康酸酐、丙烯酸酐及甲基丙烯酸酐;及其鹽。在本揭示案之一較佳實施例中,羧基單體可為丙烯酸或甲基丙烯酸或伊康酸/酸酐或順丁烯二酸/酸酐。

在一個實施例中,多元酸聚合物之重均分子量為2,000至1,000,000、較佳5,000至750,000且最佳10,000至600,000。

含羥基之丙烯酸共聚物乳液為乳膠,其為烯系不飽和單體之聚合物之粒子的基於水之分散液。含羥基之丙烯酸共聚物係由聚合含有0.1至10%含羥基單體、0.1重量%至20重量%不飽和羧酸及30%至90%丙烯酸單體之單體混合物而獲得。乳膠通常將展現在25℃下約10至1000 cps且更佳25℃下20至500 cps範圍內的黏度。乳膠中之固體含量可在5%至95%範圍內。更佳地,乳膠中之固體含量在20至80%範圍內,再更佳地在30至70%範圍內,且甚至再更佳地,其在40至60%範圍內。在一個實施例中,乳膠聚合物之重均分子量在5000與2,000,000之間且更佳在100,000與2,000,000之間。

羥烷酯。在另一實施例中,含羥基單體包括甲基丙烯酸羥乙酯(HEMA)、丙烯酸羥乙酯(HEA)、甲基丙烯酸羥丙酯(HPMA)及丙烯酸羥丙酯。
以單體混合物之重量計,單體混合物包括0.1至10%,較佳0.5至8%,更佳0.5至5%,最佳0.5至2%之含羥基單體。
在一個實施例中,不飽和羧酸包括一種或多種α,β-烯系不飽和羧酸。α,β-烯系不飽和羧酸之適合實例包含,不限於含酸單體,諸如(甲基)丙烯酸、伊康酸或反丁烯二酸;或具有酸形成基團之單體,該酸形成基團產生或隨後可轉化成此類酸基(諸如酸酐、(甲基)丙烯酸酐或順丁烯二酸酐);或其混合物。
單體混合物包括以單體混合物之重量計0.1至20%、較佳1至15%、更佳1.5至10%、最佳1.5至8%之不飽和羧酸。
在一個實施例中,丙烯酸單體之適合實例包含但不限於(甲基)丙烯酸酯,諸如(甲基)丙烯酸烷酯。(甲基)丙烯酸烷酯之實例為但不限於丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯酸乙酯、丙烯酸丁酯、甲基丙烯酸縮水甘油酯、丙烯酸2-乙基己酯、甲基丙烯酸甲酯、甲基丙烯酸乙酯、甲基丙烯酸丁酯及甲基丙烯酸2-乙基己酯及其組合。
單體混合物包括以單體混合物之重量計30至90%、較佳35至85%、更佳40至85%、最佳45至85%之丙烯酸單體。
單體混合物可進一步包括一種或多種額外單體,諸如苯乙烯單體及乙烯系單體。苯乙烯單體之實例可包含例如苯乙烯、經取代之苯乙烯或其混合物。經取代之苯乙烯可包含例如丙烯酸苯甲酯、丙烯酸2-苯氧基乙酯、丁基苯乙烯、甲基苯乙烯、對甲氧基苯乙烯或其混合物。較佳苯乙烯單體為苯乙烯。乙烯系單體之實例可包含例如烯烴,諸如乙烯、丙烯及丁二烯;乙烯酯,諸如乙酸乙烯酯;乙烯醇;丙烯腈;鹵化烯烴,諸如氯乙烯;及其混合物。
單體混合物可包括以單體混合物之重量計,5%或更多、10%或更多、13%或更多且同時60%或更少、50%或更少之一種或多種苯乙烯單體。
應瞭解,界面活性劑可如所期望地用於本揭示案之黏合劑組成物(例如用於乳液或分散聚合)中以提供穩定性以及控制粒度。習知界面活性劑包含陰離子或非離子乳化劑或其組合。典型陰離子乳化劑包含但不限於鹼性烷硫酸鹽或烷硫酸銨、鹼性烷基醚硫酸鹽或烷基醚硫酸銨、鹼性烷芳基醚硫酸鹽或烷芳基醚硫酸銨、烷磺酸鹽、脂肪酸之鹽、磺化丁二酸鹽之酯、烷基二苯基醚二磺酸鹽及複合有機磷酸酯之鹽或游離酸。典型非離子乳化劑包含但不限於:聚醚,例如環氧乙烷與環氧丙烷縮合物,其包含直鏈及分支鏈烷基及烷基芳基聚乙二醇及聚丙二醇醚及硫醚;烷基苯氧基聚(伸乙氧基)乙醇,其具有含有約7至約18個碳原子之烷基且具有約4至約100個伸乙氧基單元;及己醣醇之聚氧化烯衍生物,包含脫水山梨糖醇、山梨糖醇酐(sorbide)、一縮甘露糖醇(mannitan)及二縮甘露糖醇(mannide)。可在本發明之聚合物組成物中以按最終組成物之總重量計,0.1至3重量%或更大之含量採用界面活性劑。
丙烯酸乳液之Tg為-80℃至100℃,較佳為-50℃至80℃,更佳為-45℃至60℃,最佳為-40℃至50℃。
以多元酸聚合物水性分散液及含羥基之丙烯酸共聚物乳液之固體計,多元酸聚合物水性分散液及含羥基之丙烯酸共聚物乳液之固體重量比為0.1:100至10:100,較佳0.5:100至8:100,更佳1:100至8:100,最佳2:100至7:100。
本揭示案黏著劑組成物之其他視情況選用之組分包含但不限於選自以下之試劑:共溶劑、聚結劑、色素或其他著色劑、填充劑、增強劑(例如纖維)、分散劑、潤濕劑、蠟、催化劑、發泡劑、消泡劑、UV吸收劑、阻燃劑、助黏劑、抗氧化劑、殺生物劑、聚結劑或穩定劑。可以不會引起組分之間的不相容性之任何添加次序添加此等視情況選用之組分(如所期望的)。不溶解於水性載劑中之組分(諸如色素及填充劑)可使用混合器(視情況高剪切混合器)分散於乳膠或水性載劑或共溶劑中。組成物之pH值可藉由在攪拌下添加酸或鹼進行調節。鹼之實例包含但不限於氨、二乙胺、三乙胺、二甲基乙醇胺、三乙醇胺、氫氧化鈉、氫氧化鉀及乙酸鈉。酸之實例包含但不限於乙酸,甲酸,鹽酸,硝酸及甲苯磺酸。
本揭示案之黏著劑組成物可用於任何目的。較佳用途為用於織物/非織物之黏合劑。舉例而言,可例如藉由浸漬、定量、噴灑或其他方法使個別纖維(亦即尚未紡成線之纖維)之集合與本揭示案之組成物接觸;本揭示案之組成物中之水蒸發或允許其蒸發以產生織物/非織氈。所得織物/非織氈可或可不在水蒸發之前或期間經加熱(亦即暴露於高於40℃之溫度)。預期連續體積之聚合物將黏著於超過一根纖維,且因此聚合物將用以將纖維黏合在一起。
黏合劑之有效性之一個量度為織物/非織氈之拉伸強度,尤其在氈已暴露於水或有機溶劑時。期望較高拉伸強度。
利用本揭示案之組成物黏合在一起之纖維可由任何材料製成。纖維可為礦物纖維或有機纖維。有機纖維可為天然或人造的。一些適合之天然有機纖維由例如纖維素、纖維素衍生物、棉、亞麻及羊毛製成。一些適合之人造有機纖維由例如嫘縈、耐綸、聚酯、丙烯酸聚合物及聚烯烴製成。在本發明之實踐中,纖維可為適合之纖維之混合物。
在本揭示案之第二態樣中,本揭示案提供一種利用根據本揭示案之黏著劑組成物製備的物品。
在本揭示案之第三態樣中,本揭示案提供本揭示案之黏著劑組成物用於織物/非織物之用途。
在一個實施例中,本揭示案之黏著劑組成物可用於增加非織氈之拉伸強度,尤其在氈已暴露於水或有機溶劑時。
實例
本發明之一些實施例現將描述於以下實例中,其中除非另外規定,否則所有份數及百分比均以重量計。然而,本揭示案之範疇當然不限於此等實例中所闡述之調配物。確切而言,實例對本揭示案而言僅為發明性的。

DS-4:RHODACAL DS-4,界面活性劑,來自Solvay Chemical;

實例1:含有羥基之丙烯酸共聚物乳液(B)之製備
B-I-1:
將5.77 g DS-4溶解於475 g去離子水(DI水)中。藉由將以下原材料在攪拌下緩慢添加至溶液中來製備乳化單體混合物:6.84 g IA,13.7 g HEMA,34.2 g AA,1107.4 g BA,177.7 g Sty。
將含有50.42 g DS-4及370 g去離子水之溶液進料至配備有熱電偶、冷卻冷凝器及攪拌器之5頸3公升圓底燒瓶中,且在氮氣下加熱至70℃。將含27.4 g伊康酸(IA)之255 g 60℃ DI水饋入燒瓶中。隨後將82.8 g乳化單體混合物饋入燒瓶中。接著將含3.72 g過硫酸氨(APS)之25 g DI水及含1.86 g亞硫酸氫鈉(SBS)之20 g DI水饋入燒瓶中。當出現放熱峰且溫度處於70℃時,靜置乳化單體混合物,在120分鐘內進料APS之溶液(2.48 g於50 g DI水中)及SBS之溶液(1.24 g於50 g DI水中)。聚合反應溫度維持在69-71℃下。完成添加後,用90 g DI水沖洗含有乳化單體混合物之容器及連接至燒瓶之進料管道,且將沖洗液添加回至燒瓶。隨後將燒瓶保持在70℃下15分鐘。隨後,饋入t-BHP(70%,1.05 g於5 g DI水中)及FF6(0.9 g)於5 g DI水中之溶液。15分鐘後,經60分鐘逐漸添加t-BHP(70%,3.98 g於38 g DI水中)及FF6(3.38 g於42 g DI水中)之溶液,且隨後將反應物冷卻至室溫。添加15 g氨溶液以將pH值調節至6.5至7.5。固體含量為45%。
製備包括共聚物之乳液B-I-1,該共聚物包含以共聚物之乾重計81重量% BA、13重量% Sty、2.5重量% AA、2.5重量% IA、1重量% HEMA。Tg=-25℃。
B-I-2:根據與乳液B-I-1相同之製程製備乳液B-I-2,不同之處在於將5.77 g DS-4溶解於475 g去離子水(DI水)中,且藉由在攪拌下向溶液中緩慢添加以下原材料來製備乳化單體混合物:6.84 g IA、34.2 g AA、615.2 g丙烯酸丁酯、670 g苯乙烯。Tg=30℃。
B-I-3:根據與乳液B-I-1相同之製程製備乳液B-I-3,不同之處在於將5.77 g DS-4溶解於475 g去離子水(DI水)中,且藉由在攪拌下向溶液中緩慢添加以下原材料來製備乳化單體混合物:6.84 g IA、34.2 g AA、806.6 g丙烯酸丁酯、478.5 g苯乙烯。Tg=0℃。
B-C-1:根據與乳液B-I-1相同之製程製備乳液B-C-1,不同之處在於將5.77 g DS-4溶解於475 g去離子水(DI水)中,且藉由在攪拌下向溶液中緩慢添加以下原材料來製備乳化單體混合物:6.84 g IA、34.2 g冰丙烯酸、1107.4 g丙烯酸丁酯、191.4 g苯乙烯。不添加HEMA。Tg=-25℃。
B-C-2:乳液B-C-2為即用型商業產品(ECONEXT 919,來自陶氏化學),Tg=-25℃,不具有HEMA
本發明實例及比較實例
根據下表1調配以上原材料。攪拌原材料15分鐘以獲得可固化水性組成物。
將一片28 cm×46 cm WHATMAN紙浸漬至300 mL調配之組成物中。經處理之紙藉由Mathis浸軋機(padder)浸軋,且隨後在150℃下乾燥且固化3分鐘。紙上聚合物的添加量控制在14-16%之間。將經固化紙切割成1吋×4吋之紙片,其中4吋方向為紙之橫向加工(CD)方向。樣本之拉伸強度於Instron拉伸試驗機上在乾(未處理)、濕(在浸沒於0.1% Triton X-100/水溶液中30分鐘之後)及IPA(在浸沒於異丙醇中30分鐘之後)之處理下測試。濕強度反映對水之抗性,且IPA強度反映對溶劑之抗性。結果展示於下表2中。

將聚合物之乾燥樣本置於鋁坩堝中,且隨後藉由來自TA Instruments之DSC Q2000以以下程式測試樣本:
1.以20℃/分鐘將溫度自-80℃升高至120℃以清除熱歷程;
2.冷卻至-80℃;
3.以10℃/分鐘將溫度自-80℃升高至120℃。
將轉移之半高點確定為玻璃轉移溫度(Tg)。

Claims (10)
- 一種黏著劑組成物,其包括以下組分: (a)多元酸聚合物水性分散液,其中該多元酸聚合物含有50重量%至100重量%之一種或多種烯系不飽和單或二羧酸/酸酐; (b)含羥基之丙烯酸共聚物乳液,其中該含羥基之丙烯酸共聚物係由聚合含有0.1至10%含羥基單體、0.1重量%至20重量%不飽和羧酸及30%至90%丙烯酸單體之單體混合物而獲得, 其中,以該等組分(a)及(b)之固體計,以上組分(a)及(b)之固體重量比為0.1:100至10:100。
- 如請求項1之黏著劑組成物,其中該/該等烯系不飽和單或二羧酸/酸酐包含甲基丙烯酸、丙烯酸、巴豆酸、反丁烯二酸、順丁烯二酸、2-甲基順丁烯二酸、伊康酸、2-甲基伊康酸、α,β-亞甲基戊二酸、順丁烯二酸單烷基酯、反丁烯二酸單烷基酯、順丁烯二酸酐、伊康酸酐、丙烯酸酐、甲基丙烯酸酐;及其鹽。
- 如請求項1之黏著劑組成物,其中該一種或多種烯系不飽和單或二羧酸/酸酐與以下各者共聚合:丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯酸乙酯、丙烯酸丁酯、丙烯酸2-乙基己酯、丙烯酸癸酯、甲基丙烯酸甲酯、甲基丙烯酸丁酯、甲基丙烯酸異癸酯、丙烯酸羥乙酯、甲基丙烯酸羥乙酯、甲基丙烯酸羥丙酯、(甲基)丙烯醯胺、經取代之(甲基)丙烯醯胺、苯乙烯、經取代之苯乙烯、丁二烯、乙酸乙烯酯、丙烯腈及/或甲基丙烯腈。
- 如請求項1之黏著劑組成物,其中該含羥基單體包含(甲基)丙烯酸羥烷酯。
- 如請求項1之黏著劑組成物,其中該含羥基單體包括甲基丙烯酸羥乙酯(HEMA)、丙烯酸羥乙酯(HEA)、甲基丙烯酸羥丙酯(HPMA)及丙烯酸羥丙酯。
- 如請求項1之黏著劑組成物,其中該不飽和羧酸包括(甲基)丙烯酸、伊康酸、反丁烯二酸、(甲基)丙烯酸酐、順丁烯二酸酐)或其混合物。
