200824564 九、發明說明: 【發明所屬之技術領域】 本發明係關於在含有殺生物之四級銨及/或四級鱗化合 物(“四級化合物【qUats】”)的水性系統中控制泡沫形成的 方法。本發明亦關於低泡沫的水性調配物,其包括四級銨 及/或四級鱗化合物,以及該調配化合物在殺死或抑制微生 物、藻類和真菌生長之方法中的用途。 【先前技術】
數個四級銨和四級鱗化合物(“四級化合物,,)顯現出明 顯的殺生物活性,所以已經用來作為在消毒劑、防腐劑或 其他用以殺死或控制微生物,如細菌或病毒,還有藻類和 真菌生長之組成物中的活性成分許多年了。然而,因為這 些四級化合物中許多也具有表面活性劑特性,故其在水性 系統中的使用,經常在低四級化合物濃度下,在ppm範圍 中’受到劇烈起泡事件的損冑,在與大氣壓接觸的同時攪 動該水性系統的應用上’是特別不㈣,如游泳池或水療 (spa)用水,或在冷卻塔中的水。 【發明内容】 猎著本發明提供在含有至少一個殺生物之四級化合物 的水性系統中’抑制起泡的方法,而解決該問題。 根據本發明,已經藉著申請專利範圍第1項之方法解 決該問題。中請者已經發現在含有至少—種殺生物四級録 及/或四級鱗化合物的水性系統中,以相當於從〇顧到 〇.2(即〇胤·!到0.2:1),較佳的W到⑽的陰離 200824564 子表面活性劑對四級銨及/或四級鎸化合物之莫耳比例的 量,添加至少一種陰離子表面活性劑,在使用該水性系統 的期間,實質上減少了泡沫形成的體積和壽命。 【實施方式】 因為已知陰離子表面活性劑會降低四級銨化合物的殺 生物效力,藉著以比莫耳當量低很多的量添加陰離子表面

Inc·,Allendalem NJ),作為泡沫評估的代表性四級銨化合 物。如同在表1中所示,ADBAC產生大量的泡沫,產生25 毫升的最初泡沫體積,並在30秒之後維持ι〇毫升的泡沫。 作為比較,亦測試聚合的四級化合物聚[氧亞乙基(二甲基 亞胺基)亞乙基(二甲基亞胺基)亞乙基二氯化物](wscp ;
Buckman Laboratories International,Inc,Memphis,TN)的 200824564 泡沫表現。 實施例2 按照上述判定陰離子表面活性劑磺基號轴酸二辛_鈉 (NaDOSS)對ADBAC起泡的影響。在下文表1中出示結果。 相對於活性四級化合物,僅添加〇· 1莫耳當量的NaD〇sS 便使最初泡沫體積減少了 85%,從25毫升降至4毫升。甚 至僅施加0_02莫耳當量的NaDOSS,結果只有6毫升的最 初泡沫體積,且泡沫在10秒内完全消失。 實施例3 使用實施例2的方法,以2ppm的四級化合物濃度, 測試NaDOSS對控制低濃度四級銨化合物起泡的能力,因 為低濃度四級錢化合物經常被用在水處理應用上,如游泳 池殺藻劑。為了比較,不加NaDOSS進行一項測試。在下 文表1中出示結果,已經發現像〇.〇5ppm那樣低的NaDOSS 濃度,便可在2ppm之四級化合物濃度下控制起泡。 貫施例4 亦使用實施例2的方法,測試作為泡沫減少劑的另類 陰離子表面活性劑磺基琥珀酸二己酯鈉(NaDHSS)和磺基琥 ί白酸二(十三烷基)醋鈉(NaDTSS)。在下文表1中出示結果。 已經發現像l.lppm那樣低的NaDHSS濃度,控制l〇ppm 四級化合物(相當於〇·1〇的陰離子表面活性劑對四級化合 物之莫耳比例)的起泡,而像〇.2ppm那樣低的濃度,仍顯 不少許影響。已經分別利用濃度1·7ρρηι(相當於〇1〇的陰 離子表面活性劑對四級化合物之莫耳比例)和〇·4ρρηι的 11 200824564
