Abstract
Bu buluş, alüminyum üretiminde kullanılması amaçlanan bir elektrolitik hücreye ait bir potada kullanılmaya yönelik olan ve yan yüzlerinden biri boyunca en az bir uzunlamasına oluğa sahip, karbonlu malzemeden yapılma bir katot bloğunu (5) ve söz konusu oluğun içinde, söz konusu çubuğun bir parçası bloğun bir ucunda ortaya çıkacak biçimde barındırılan, söz konusu çubuk ile bloğun arasına bir iletken mühürleme malzemesinin yerleştirilmesi yoluyla oluğa mühürlenen ve elektrik iletkenliği söz konusu çeliğin elektrik iletkenliğinden daha yüksek en az bir metal ek parçaya yer veren bir çelik bağlantı çubuğunu (6) içeren bir katot elemanıyla ilgilidir. Buluş uyarınca, ek parça (16) çubuğun içinde uzunlamasına düzenlenmekte ve en azından kısmen, bağlantı çubuğunun potanın dışında yer alacak olan diliminde (19) bulunmakta ve bağlantı çubuğu (6) katot bloğuna, bloğun başındaki oluk ucunda yer alan belirli bir yüzey alanına (S) sahip bir mühürlenmemiş bölgede (17) mühürlenmemektedir. Buluşa uygun bir ek parçanın varlığı, aynı zamanda genel katot voltajında çok büyük bir düşmeyle ve bloğun başındaki akım yoğunluğunda çok güçlü bir azalmayla sonuçlanabilmektedir.
