Bulus, moleküler hedef olarak CD44-geninin degisken ekson v6'sinin ifadesine dayali olan bir epitelyom teshis ve tedavi yöntemine iliskindir. Tercih edilen bir uygulama seklinde bu amaç için v6-spesifik antikorlar, bilhassa da monoklonal antikor BIWA-1 (VFF-18) kullanilir.
