[Continued on next page] (54) Title: REACTOR SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR WOOD MODIFICATION o CJ •t i> (57) Abstract: Disclosed is a reactor system for the modification of lignocel- lulosic materials. According to the in vention, the system comprises reaction a vessel, vacuum connection and a an inlet and/or outlet connected to a gas flow loop connected to a heat exchanger and at least one fluid circulation device. Par ticularly, gas flow loop is arranged so as to allow gas circulation over the diamet er of the reaction vessel. The gas flow loop preferably includes a gas distribu tion device, such as a distribution plate.
