Abstract
An alloy has the following composition in weight percentages: Chromium 20 to 33, Silicon 2 to 6, Boron 2 to 6, Iron 0 to 20, Carbon 0 to 1.5, Tungsten 0 to 5, with Nickel making up the balance to 100. Such an alloy is used to braze together the metal parts of a heat exchanger, e.g. one of a type suitable for a community heating scheme, or of other extended area devices, such as fluid heaters and catalyst carriers.
