Abstract
An arrangement for the sealing of a propeller shaft of a ship against the seawater (W) and against a lubricant chamber (S) comprises a multiple seal 1 with a ring 3 chamber being carved out in each case between two adjacent sealing rings 2, with the ring chamber being pressurized via a feed line 4 with a pressurized gas e.g. air, is characterized in that a discharge line 5 opens into the pressurized ring chamber 3; in that a scraper 7 is arranged in the ring chamber and is rigidly connected therewith, with the scraper being so designed that it scrapes lubricant adhering to the shaft from the latter and directs it into the lower part of the ring chamber. <IMAGE>
