Abstract
1497732 Developer carrier particles XEROX CORP 2 May 1975 [30 May 1974 (2)] 18406/75 Heading G2H Carrier particles, suitable for use with toner particles to form an electrostatographic developer, are selected to have a specific surface area of at least 150 cm<SP>2</SP>/gram and preferably have a particle size volume distribution geometric standard deviation (defined in the Specification) of less than 1À3 and an average particle size diameter of less than 100 microns. Any known carrier material may be classified to produce carrier particles, which may be coated or uncoated, of the required size. In the Examples, nickel-zinc ferrite particles are coated with a known plastics coating material, are classified by sieving and then mixed with known toner particles.
