Abstract
1464342 Hoppers KUBOTA Ltd 16 Jan 1975 [17 Jan 1974 13 June 1974 24 July 1974 (2) 6 Aug 1974 5 Oct 1974] 1947/75 Heading B8S [Also in Divisions C7 F4 and B2] Molten slag is sucked from a ladle 1, mixed with water to granulate it and the mixture fed to hoppers 12, 16 where the slag granules are separated. The bottoms of the hoppers are closed by flaps 18, 19 which are so operated by a cam 23 that, when one is open, the other is closed. The hoppers are cooled by water jackets. The granules are discharged into a shoot 31. In a modification, Fig. 14, the bottom of an intermediate hopper 125 is closed by a pneumatically operated valve 128, when the flap 130 of the bottom hopper 126 is open.
