1,067,193. Tuyeres; feeding particulate material. KOPPERS CO. Inc. Oct. 10, 1963 [Nov. 5, 1962], No. 47928/66. Divided out of 1,067,191. Heading F4B. A water-jacketed tuyere has a tube 562 extending through the water jacket 552 to a recess 554 formed in the wall of the tuyere, for delivering particulate material to the furnace. The recess may have an abrasion-resistant shield or target 568 to deflect the material into the blast, or may open through the end wall of the tuyere. The tube may have an abrasionresistant liner.
