1,064,617. Discharging molten metal; ladles. GES. FUR HUTTENWERKSANLAGEN, m.b.H., and FICHTEL & SACHS A.G. Nov. 10, 1965 [July 8, 1965], No. 47691/65. Heading F4B. Metal from a furnace is discharged to a well 8 at one end of a launder 7 and supplied to a ladle 1 having a cover 3 with a slot 5 to co-operate with the launder outlet when the ladle is tipped to discharge metal from outlet 15. The launder 7 may carry a shield 16 to close parts of the slot 5 not receiving metal. Two continuously operating cupoli furnaces may supply a single launder feeding a shaking ladle.
