Abstract

1,132,408. Collapsible tubes. AKERLUND & RAUSING A.B. 4 Sept., 1967 [23 Sept., 1966], No. 40294/67. Heading B8D. A double-walled collapsible tube, for containing separate materials to be mixed at the time of use, has one or more openings 7 formed between the necks 3, 4 of the respective tubes. The outer tube neck 4 is of triangular internal cross-section and the neck 3 of the inner tube is cylindrical, so forming passages 5 between them. The neck 3 has a resilient flange 6 which snaps over the upper edge of the neck 4 to lock the tubes together, leaving the openings 7 of the passages 5 clear. A screw-on nozzle 8 has a mixing chamber 9 for the extruded materials and is closed by an outer cap 11 from which a stopper pin 12 depends. Both the openings 7 and the inner tube opening 13 may be closed by a pad or by parts on the cap 8. The tubes may be of plastics or deep drawn aluminium.
