Abstract
956,847. Bellows pumps. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. April, 17 1963 [April 21, 1962], No. 15162/63. Heading F1N. A bellows pump comprises a cylindrical casing 1 divided by a transverse partition 2 into chambers 3, 4 each containing a metal bellows. 11, 20 respectively which are connected at one end to fixed end plates 6, 5 of the casing 1 and at the other end to movable pistons 13, 22 linked together by a rod 24 passing through the partition 2. The bellows are actuated by oil pressure admitted to and exhausted from chambers 3, 4 through casing ducts 29, 30 connected to a distributing valve (not shown). In the position shown, bellows 11 delivers compressed air through a pipe 38 past a ball valve 63 and through pipes 50, 48 to a delivery pipe 42 whilst bellows 20 draws air from a pipe 41 through pipes 43, 46 past a ball valve 59 and through a pipe 37. On reversal of stroke valves 59, 63 automatically close and valves 60, 62 open.
