Abstract

FIELD: extraction of metals. SUBSTANCE: mineral stock is fed into leaching apparatus 10 to contact with electrolyte. Leaching apparatus has a zone with decreasing redox potential (17-20). Electrolyte stream 14a is being removed from zone 20 and treated to remove admixtures and undesired metals in treatment arrangement 25A before metal is extracted by aid of electrolysis. After electrolysis process, electrolyte is returned into leaching apparatus 10. The second electrolyte stream 14A may be removed from zone 19 to additionally extract metals. Electrolyte 14B is treated to remove admixtures and any undesired metals in treatment arrangement 25B before metal is extracted by aid of electrolysis, whereupon electrolyte is returned into leaching apparatus 10. EFFECT: enabled leaching difficultly leachable metals including gold and thereby obtained possibility of extracting one or several high-purity metals. 1 dwg

Claims (1)

The process of obtaining one or more metals from the supplied 12 mineral raw materials is proposed. The mineral substance is supplied to the leach apparatus 10, where it is in contact with the electrolyte. The leaching apparatus has a zone with decreasing oxidative potential 17 - 20, respectively. The electrolyte stream 14A is removed from zone 20 and processed to remove impurities and unwanted metals in the processing device 25A before the metal is recovered by electrolysis. After the electrolysis process, the electrolyte returns to the leach device 10. The second electrolyte stream 14A can be removed from zone 19 to extract additional metals. The electrolyte 14B is processed to remove impurities and any unwanted metals in the processing device 25B until the metal is recovered by electrolysis. After the electrolysis process, the electrolyte is returned to the leaching device 10. This process allows the leaching of hard-to-leach metals, including gold, and as a result it can produce one or more metals with a high degree of purity.
