Изобретение относится к обработке металлов давлением, в частности, при изготовлении многогранных труб с применением холодной прокатки, используемых в качестве чехловых труб тепловыделяющих сборок атомных реакторов. Предлагаемый способ обеспечивает повышение качества изделий путем создания равномерной степени деформации стенки трубы по ширине ее грани. Сущность изобретения: из круглой трубы формообразуют многогранную трубу с гладкими гранями. При этом периметр и толщину стенки полуфабриката сохраняют равными соответственно периметру и толщине исходной круглой трубы. Затем полуфабрикат деформируют холодной продольной прокаткой в многоугольном валковом калибре на многогранной оправке с равномерно расположенными трапециевидными канавками.
