Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of agriculture, in particular ecology and biomethod in the fight against harmful species of aphids, and can be used to study the behavior of gall midges in laboratory experiments, in biological laboratories - as an additional method with a low number of aphids during oviposition of gall midges, to eliminate foci of aphids any size in the open and closed ground and as a demonstration material in the process of studying by students of biology and ecology of beneficial insects.
A known method of breeding common lacewing is that using liquid carbohydrate-protein or dry nutrient media containing honey, sucrose or yeast autolysate (1). However, in this case, these substances were used as feed for another species of entomophage. The disadvantage of this method is the use of unnatural feed and the cost of its production.
The closest way to breeding gall midges, adopted as a prototype, is the method in which the females lay their eggs on plants inhabited by aphids (2, 3). The disadvantage of this method is the need to maintain a high number of aphids on plants, the use of aphid species different from the species against which gall midges are colonized in greenhouses and the unsuitability of biomaterial for laboratory research and practical use.
The objective of the invention is to obtain pure biomaterial from the phytophage and its waste products, the planned number and place, the reduction in the number of plants and the number of phytophage used in the process of obtaining pre-maginal phases and in breeding gall midges, the possibility of using biomaterial for different purposes.
The task is achieved by the fact that to obtain gall midge ovipositions, aphids are used, which, on the one hand, is a natural adult food, on the other hand, which was first established, serves as a signal for egg laying and determines their number. Females realize their daily fertility by laying eggs in the absence of aphids near drops of paddy artificially applied to the substrate. Thanks to this method, gall midges receive eggs and larvae of the first age on a substrate clean from aphids, and the ability to use biomaterial for various purposes.
Example 1. We use transparent plastic microcards with a diameter of 1.7-2 cm, with holes on the side walls for ventilation. The micropipes are fixed on the underside of the plant leaf with metal clip-holders. 10-20 larvae of aphids of the 2nd and 3rd instars are placed in each microcade, and a day later, aphids are collected from the microcade using a micropipette. Then a pad is applied to the underside of a leaf of another plant that is free of insects. The plant is placed in a gauze cage (50 x 50 x 50 cm), into which adult gall midges (males and females) are released, one day after hatching. Female gall midges lay eggs on the leaves of plants near drops of paddy. Eggs are collected with leaves or left on this plant to study the preimaginal phases.
Example 2. The same as in example 1. A pad is applied to one side of a moistened gauze tissue, which is lowered into a vessel where the adult gall midges are located, or this vessel is closed with this fabric. In this case, it is necessary to maintain an air humidity of 80-85% in the vessel. Females lay eggs on the fabric. Oviposition is collected with the tissue and used as intended.
The proposed method will reduce the number of plants and the number of phytophage used in breeding gall midges, to optimize methods of scientific research in studying the behavior and ecology of gall midges, by excluding from the interaction of the phytophage and its metabolic products (plant damage, the presence of larval skins, saprophytes developing on the paddy) , to expand the range of use of the premaginal phases of the gall midge in scientific experiments and in the protection of agricultural crops. crops from aphids, both in open and in protected ground.
