DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to cartons for the transport of goods, which enable the goods carried in the carton to be presented to a consumer and to facilitate access to the goods contained in the carton.

A variety of products are transported in open cartons from the top side. For example, a variety of different carton shapes are known in the beverage industry for transporting, from the production to the retail trade, bottles or other smaller containers of beverage bottles (e.g., " sixpacks "). In retailing, cartons are generally stacked so that access can only be made from above and therefore products in a carton that is located in a lower position on the stack can only be accessed when all boxes above it are removed. This is extremely inconvenient, cumbersome and time consuming. A number of boxes with side walls which are foldable and secured to the same height are, for example, described in US 6,601,724 Bl, EP 2 062 827 A1, EP 2 030 903 A1, EP 0 275 919 A2, EP 0 260 698 A1, DE 2 617 051 A1, EP 0 530 610 Bl, DE 76 17 706

Therefore, it would be advantageous to provide boxes that would allow a more efficient and simple access to the products that are transported in the box. The present invention aims to provide an improved carton, which allows better access to the products in the carton, together with a good transport safety.

This object is achieved by a carton according to claim 1.

Some embodiments of the present invention therefore have a bottom and at least two pairs of opposing sidewalls, respectively, wherein a first one of the sidewalls is designed in such a way as to permit a removal of the products contained in the carton. To this end, the first side wall extends from the bottom in the vertical direction, at least in part, at only a reduced upward withdrawal height, which is smaller than the height of one or more side walls remaining. The withdrawal height is determined so that, from a first side wall, a side opening with a dimension is defined, which allows access or removal of the products contained in the carton through the side opening. The carton is delimited upwardly by the first region of the side wall extending from the bottom upwardly (which may also be the entire sidewall) to a lower upwardly withdrawing height. That is, above this first side wall region, there is no longer any non-positive connection between the adjacent side walls.

In other words, the first side wall is at least in part, less raised than the side walls surrounding it, or a wall surrounding it, so that, it is also possible to access the carton laterally so that, when the cartons are stacked, the products can also be found in the lower boxes of the stack. The height of the first side wall in some embodiments is, however, so far as the specific products to be carried in the carton can not fall out of the carton during shipping. In some embodiments, the carton is specific for transporting bottles, or bottles which are prepackaged in small containers, whereby the first side wall has a height which is sufficient to prevent the dropping of individual bottles from the carton. In some embodiments, the height is between 1 and 10 cm. In some other embodiments, this height is between 2 and 5 cm, or more generally is more than 2 cm.

In some embodiments, the first side wall has at its edges adjacent to the adjacent side walls, respectively two side wall sections which extend to a height of the adjacent side walls, in order to increase the stability of the carton.

According to further embodiments of the present invention, the carton has four side walls, wherein at least the side walls adjacent to the first side wall are provided with gripping apertures. The gripping apertures in this case have a region running parallel to the bottom, as well as a region running perpendicular to the bottom. In some embodiments, the region that runs perpendicular to the bottom is disposed toward the first side wall. In some embodiments, in addition, the first opening section which runs horizontally and substantially parallel to the bottom enters the vertical opening section with a radius which is large enough so that it can also be accessed in the radius of the carton. In these embodiments of the invention, it is therefore possible to grasp and lift the carton in its radius, or in the vertical aperture section, so that it tilts backward during gripping. This reduces during transport the likelihood of articles falling, such as bottles, from the carton through the apertures of the first side wall.

According to some embodiments of the invention, the carton further includes, in the region of the bottom adjacent the first side wall, a larger bearing surface for the products to be transported, such as in the middle of the remaining region of the ground. This means, in other words, that if the bottom, for reasons of weight saving is not conceived as a complete surface but consists for example of individual bars, the number of bars per region unit, then the density of the bars is increased in the region adjacent the first side wall. This means that a product which is placed in the carton near the side wall, for example a bottle or beverage can, is in contact with the bottom with a large bearing surface. This prevents the bottle or beverage can from slipping or tilting into recesses between the bottom bars, so that an unwanted drop of the can or bottle is prevented during transportation.

In some embodiments, the side walls adjacent the first side wall further have a lower height on the front side in which they are adjacent the first side wall than on the front side opposite the side wall. That is, in the direction of the aperture, the side walls that attach to the aperture are lower, so that, on the one hand, the space available for removal is increased and, on the other hand, the incident light and the interior view of the carton is enlarged so that products transported in the carton, such as bottles or the like, become more visible.

In the case of the carton according to the present invention, the remaining side walls which do not correspond to the first side wall can be folded relative to the ground so that the carton can be placed in a folded state in which the remaining side walls are approximately parallel to the bottom, on this, or lie above the ground. This allows the carton to be transported more cheaply and more effectively when empty.

Further embodiments comprise an additional movable side wall region extending over the first side wall in the vertical direction, and which may be removed or unfolded. This may have the advantage that in the unfolded state of the movable side wall region the stability and safety is further increased so that there are no articles or products which may fall out of the carton. In addition, in the unfolded or folded state, the movable side wall region may also be used to present product information or the like.

In one embodiment, the movable side wall arrangement is formed in the form of a barrel, or is formed of a plurality of bars, so that the carton can be cleaned with high pressure spray without separating the movable side wall or inadvertently release it from the carton through high pressure.

In still other embodiments, the remaining side walls are further coated or laminated on the inner side with a film, which contains product information which can be clearly seen from the outside.

In still further embodiments, a reflective sheet is provided such that through reflection of the light in the carton, a better understanding of the products or cartridges carried in the carton can be seen.

In some other embodiments, the remaining three side walls that do not correspond to the bottom wall, have the same height, so that the boxes can be stacked on top of each other, wherein the bottom of a carton rests on the three side walls the underlying box. For this purpose, special recesses or contours may be provided both at the bottom and at the upper ends of the remaining side walls, which rest in corresponding recesses or contours of the remaining bottom or side walls, respectively, so as to enable stacking and ensure stability.

In still further embodiments of the invention, in the cartons according to the invention, which are suitable for the storage or transport and presentation of beverage cans or cans, the bottom has a plurality of sleeves which project in the vertical direction from the bottom up. The sleeves are three-dimensional objects which are arranged at the bottom and are designed such that the bottles are held or secured by the outer delimiting surfaces of the sleeves so that a drop of the bottles is effectively avoided. In some embodiments, the sleeves have, in the vertical direction, only a small height, so that they can be referred to as cylindrical sleeves. The height and outer shape of some sleeves are selected such that, together with the first side wall, they prevent a drop of the bottles out of the carton through the side opening. To ensure removal, however, in some embodiments, the sleeves are not taller than the first side wall in its uppermost position. In some embodiments, the outer delimiting surfaces of the sleeves have a variable height to adjust them to the desired functions to the best extent possible. In order to allow a tilting removal of the bottles towards the first side wall and still ensure a good stability, the sleeves have a height in a direction parallel to the side wall that is smaller than in the direction of the first side wall, so that a slope parallel to the first side wall is possible, whereas a slope in a direction perpendicular thereto is difficult and the bottles are held secure.

Preferred embodiments of the present invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Fig. 12 is a detailed view of the sleeves used in some embodiments of the invention. Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a beverage carton 10. The bottom 12 is not designed in the shown consistently flat shape, but is composed of a grid-like structure. As shown in Fig. 3 in a bottom view of the carton, the bottom 12 is formed by a plurality of rods or bars. These are arranged close enough to each other so that the article to be carried, for example a bottle, can not fall through the bottom of the carton or tilt uncontrollably when the end of a bottle oscillates in a space between the rods. The carton also has two pairs of opposing side walls 14a, 14b and 16a, 16b, which project from the bottom 12 upwardly, i.e. in the vertical direction 18. A first of the four side walls, in this example, the wall side 16b projects only to a reduced height of withdrawal 20 in the vertical direction 18. The withdrawal height 20 is smaller than the height of the remaining side walls 14a, 14b and 16a, so that a side opening is formed, allowing the access or removal of bottles or products contained and transported in the carton through the side opening. Above the first side wall 16b, there is no further structure of the carton. In the bottom 12 of the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, a plurality of sleeves are further disposed, of which, for example, the sleeve 22a and the sleeve 22b are highlighted. The side opening for removing the products is therefore obtained in that the first side wall 16b has a lower height than the adjacent or remaining side walls. The height should be understood herein, as in the following figures, as the dimension in the positive vertical direction 18. The term " upper " refers to a position in the positive vertical direction 18, the term " bottom " refers to a position which has a smaller coordinate in the vertical direction 18. The lateral directions are understood as desired directions, which delimit the carton in the directions parallel to the surface of the bottom 12.

Through the first side wall 16b is defined or formed a side opening that allows access for removal of the bottles carried in the carton. In other embodiments, of course, other products may be carried in the carton. In the box of Fig. 1, the so-called " sixpacks ", i.e., pre-packaged sets of six bottles may also be carried.

In alternative embodiments not shown here, the side wall does not have its entire length, the reduced withdrawal height 20, instead projecting through the side wall sections in the side opening, which are secured in the adjacent side walls 14a and 14b, wherein the side opening is large enough to ensure a removal of the products or bottles. These boxes may be more stable. The embodiment of a carton 10 shown in Fig. 1 further shows a movable side wall region 23, which is rotatably mounted relative to a first fixed side wall 16b by means of hinges 24a to 24c. The movable side wall region 23 is shown in Fig. 1 in an unfolded position, where it is folded down relative to the first side wall 16b. In the unfolded position, the movable side wall region 23 extends according to the invention, in the vertical direction 18 in the upward direction. Thus, the safety can be further increased in the sense that the bottles in the carton 10 can not tilt outwards. In addition, the moving part can be used to present product information or the like.

The side walls 14a and 14b adjacent the first side wall 16b each have a gripping opening 28a and 28b, with which the carton can be lifted and conveyed.

In this case, the gripping apertures have both a first aperture region protruding parallel to the bottom, and a second aperture region which projects essentially in the direction, the function of which will be explained below in more detail with reference to Fig.

Further, the side walls 14a and 14b adjacent the first side wall 16b have, at their end facing the first side wall, beveled edge regions 30a and 30b through which light may be incident on the cartons, even when they are stacked. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the ends of the side walls 14a and 14b adjacent the first side wall 16b, then have a lower height than at their opposite end. Needless to say, although in the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the recess region of the side wall is essentially triangular, other shapes desired for the recess may be used for alternative embodiments. In some embodiments, the height increases from side walls 14a and 14b adjacent the first side wall 16b continuously to its maximum height. In alternative embodiments, the height increase may, of course, occur in an etnic or stepwise fashion. The carton shown in Fig. 1 may be stacked, i.e. the contours of the upper ends of the sidewalls 14a, 14b and 16a are drawn such that when stacked they fit the contour or bottom structure of another carton ( see for example, Fig. 3), so that the cartons can be stacked one on top of the other. However, the aperture defined by the first side wall 16b allows the removal of bottles or bottle assemblies, such as sixpacks from the inside of the carton, even when the carton is stacked.

In some embodiments of the invention, the facing surfaces of the side walls 14a, 14b and 16a are decorated with bright color so that through the light incident through the apertures 30a and 30b, the bottles within the carton may be clearly visible to the viewer from the outside. In alternate embodiments, the surfaces are covered with product instructions or advertising. The embodiment of the invention shown in Fig. 1 further shows at least one of the sidewalls (in the case shown here, side wall 14b), a plurality of rods 32a to 32d which project in the vertical direction, from an inward side surface which prevents the bottles, which are inside the carton held in the sleeves, from contacting the entire side surface with the sidewall and substantially dirtying it. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the rods 32a to 32d are respectively disposed such that the bottles rest on the outer wall, with their outer radii, in the positions of the rods 32a to 32d. Thus, large areas of the inner surfaces of the side walls can be prevented from being soiled, since this only occurs with the rods. Fig. 2 shows the embodiment of the carton 10 of Fig. 1 when filled with 3 sixpacks.

The sixpacks 40a, 40b and 40c respectively contain six bottles which, for the sake of clarity, are not shown here.

The sixpacks are further retained by rods 40a and 40b in the sleeves which engage underneath the sixpacks opened for this purpose, the rods, as shown in Fig. 1, being disposed on the bottom 12 of the carton 10.

As is apparent from the view of Fig. 3 illustrating two boxes 10 and 10a in the stacked state, the products or bottles may also be removed from the lower carton 10 in the stacked state. This also applies to sixpacks 40a, 40b and 40c when transported or presented in the carton as an alternative to individual bottles. As can be seen from Figures 2 and 3, the special embodiment shown in Figure 1 of a carton has a high degree of flexibility with respect to the bottles to be transported, since it can be carried, on the one hand, sixpacks and on the other, individual bottles with the box. This is achieved from the sleeves 22a and 22b, as well as from the rods 42a and 42b of the arrangement of Fig. 1.

It is understood that in other embodiments of the carton 10, the arrangement of the sleeves may be chosen differently. For example, the rods can be completely omitted in some embodiments and, instead, only if sleeves are used. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, however, both are possible, since each individual bottle, which is inserted into one of the empty spaces between the sleeves and / or rods, is protected in four directions, either through a side wall a stem, a sleeve or one of the carton side walls 14a, 14b, 16a or 16b, so that it is held stable during transport.

Fig. 3 clearly shows another feature of some embodiments of the present invention, i.e. the special configuration of the holding apertures 28a and 28b. The grip opening is curved and extends both horizontally and vertically. In other words, the grip opening 28a has a first aperture region 50a protruding parallel to the bottom 12, and a second aperture region 50b, which extends essentially in the vertical direction 18. The delimitation between the vertical aperture region and horizontal in Fig. 3 is given by way of example only. The gripping opening 28a therefore also extends to a significant curvature in the vertical direction, so that the gripping aperture 28a can also be used in the region of vertical opening by a person. In alternative embodiments of the invention, the grip opening 28a may of course have a shape different from that of the embodiment indicated in Fig. 3. For example, this may also be of square or rectangular cross-section, so that the carton may be lifted both from above by the horizontal opening region 50a and from the side by means of the vertical opening region 50b.

In the embodiment shown in Fig. 3, the vertical aperture region is on the side associated with the first side wall 16b and overlies the horizontal aperture region 50a, on the outer contour (i.e. the contour facing toward the first side wall) with a great thunderbolt. This means that upon lifting the carton, it can be grasped in the spoke, so that the carton, when the vertical opening region is on the side associated with the first side wall 16b, bends back (toward the side wall 16a) , whereby by tilting the carton, it is further prevented the falling of the individual bottles out of the carton.

In some embodiments of the invention, with reference to Fig. 4, there is shown a bottom perspective view of the carton of Fig. 1 and with reference to Fig. 11, which further shows a bottom view of a further embodiment of the invention , safety is further augmented by a special design of the bottom 12 in the region 50 adjacent the first side wall 16b.

In some embodiments of the invention, the bottom 12 is not formed in its entirety, but rather by a rib arrangement to save weight and to facilitate cleaning. These cover the surface of the bottom 12 so that the individual bottles securely rest with their bottle bottoms on the bottom 12. In the region 50 of the front edge, i.e. in the region 50 adjacent the first side wall 16b, the number or the density of the area of the ribs, in comparison with the remaining region, is increased so that the bottles located therein can not lean outwardly by themselves when slightly inclined by external influences from their position resting toward the first side wall 16b. This is avoided as the ribs are placed in the region 50 adjacent to the first side wall 16b in such a dense manner that the edge of a bottle can not tilt between the void space between two adjacent ribs. In other words, the bottom 12 has, in the region 50 adjacent the first side wall 16b, a support surface for the bottles, which is greater than the bearing surface provided per unit area in the center along the bottom, to allow secure retention of the bottles.

As shown further in Figure 4, the bottom 12 presents in the region adjacent to the side walls 14a, 14b and 16a an increase of a plurality of ribs, the contour of which is adapted such that, while another carton is placed inside the sidewalls, it fits into the contour of the side walls of the other carton in order to ensure stacking capacity and a stable position in the stacked state.

In addition, the bottom of the carton has in the center a bar 52 extending from the side wall 16a to the first side wall 16b, and which rods present in the vertical direction a greater extent than the remaining bottom rods. This bar 52 serves to further support the first side wall 16b of smaller height, to increase the stability of the carton. The bar 52 is disposed centrally so that the bar, which extends further downstream of the remaining bottom, does not prevent the removal of the bottles from the lower carton when in stacking state. Fig. 5 shows a further embodiment of a carton, which is essentially different from the embodiments discussed with reference to the previous figures, in that other bottle sizes may be conveyed with the embodiment shown in Fig. 5 Although the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 is adapted to bottles of 0.5 L, the embodiment shown in Fig. 5 is a carton adapted for bottles of 0.33 L. Thus, the embodiment of Fig. 5 differs essentially in the sleeve arrangement of the embodiment of Fig. 1 as well as in the thickness of the side walls 14a, 14b and 16a which has been altered to retain bottles disposed within the carton in cartons of the same external volume. Thus, the carton shown in Fig. 5 shows, for example, five sleeves 54a, 54b, 54c, 54d, and 54e which are adjacent the first side wall 16b to retain six .33L bottles in the first row. In addition, the carton of Fig. 5 has only one continuous rod 56 in the middle of the carton, so that four sixpacks may alternatively be carried with the carton.

In addition, the embodiment of Fig. 5, unlike the embodiments of Figures 1 to 4, shows the carton with a movable side wall region 23 in the first side wall 16b folded upwardly. Moreover, since the design features of the carton of Fig. 5 corresponding to those of Fig. 1 and respectively have similar functionality, a further discussion of corresponding components of the carton of Fig. 1 is ignored. In addition, it is it should be noted that the carton shown in Fig. 5, as is the case of the carton shown in Fig. 1, presents in the side wall 16a, opposite the first side wall 16b, at least one opening 58 extending along the side wall 16a, so that the carton may be attached or hung through the aperture to a wall or shelf or the like.

In order to increase the securing safety, the embodiments shown in Figures 1 and 5 further respectively have a second optional support aperture 60. The embodiment shown in Figure 6 is also configured to transport 24 bottles of 0, 33 L and corresponds in many parts to the embodiment shown in Fig. 5. In the embodiment of Fig. 6, the side walls 14a, 14b and 16a respectively at least parts of the sidewalls 14a, 14b and 16a are disposed of foldable manner relative to the bottom by means of hinges. They are thus foldable such that they can be folded toward the bottom, and lie essentially parallel to the bottom in a folded state, as shown in Figure 7 for the side wall 16a, which is in the folded state parallel to the bottom surface Fig. 8 shows all side walls 14a, 14b and 16a in the folded state, so that in the fully folded state, the carton can be easily transported back to the distillery or bottling site without consuming much storage space. This can significantly reduce transportation costs.

Although, with reference to Figures 6 to 8, the folded side walls 14a, 14b and 16a are shown only for a carton, which is configured to carry 24 bottles of 0.33 L, needless to say that the carton shown in Fig. 1 can also be adapted for bottles of 0,5 L with collapsible side walls. In general, it is valid for all embodiments shown here that the features described or shown with reference to the individual embodiments may be combined with each other in a desired manner to arrive at other alternative embodiments of cartons according with the invention. Fig. 9 shows the embodiment of Fig. 5, in the loaded state, wherein 24 bottles are disposed in the carton.

As in Fig. 5, the movable side wall region 23 is also in unfolded position so as to further secure the bottles in the front row, or for applying product information for transport on the outer side of the flexible part 23, which is not relevant for the presentation of the goods. Fig. 10 shows the embodiment of Fig. 5, with an alternative form of loading, i.e. with four sixpacks 70a, 70b, 70c and 70d. Fig. 11 finally shows a plan view of the embodiment of Fig. 5, where it can be seen that the sleeve 54c has a different geometric shape from the sleeves 54a, 54b and 54d or 54e, to allow the attachment of sixpacks. In alternative embodiments, however, the more central sleeve 54c may of course have the same geometric shape as the other sleeves, such as, for example, the sleeve 54a. Likewise, any other sleeves may have the shape of the sleeve 54c.

As can be seen from the plan view in Fig. 11, also in the case of boxes for 24 beverage bottles, the bottom 12 in the region 50 adjacent the first side wall 16, is constructed with a support surface larger than the central support surface of the entire bottom, so that an unwanted drop of the bottles out of the carton is avoided. 12 shows an enlarged view of the sleeves 54a through 54c in their particular shape, making it evident that the shape, in interaction with the first side wall 16b, allows the bottles to be safer on the front side but can also be removed. To achieve this aim, some embodiments of the sleeves have an outer surface, the height of which is not constant, in the vertical direction 18. As the outer delimiting surface of the sleeves 54, the bevelled surface 70 is to be understood as meaning the surface or the surface elements, which delimit the sleeves laterally, ie in all directions orthogonal to the vertical direction 18. The outer delimiting surface 70 has a variable height, as already described above. Here, in a first side surface region 75, which extends parallel to the first side wall 16b, and holds a bottle in the back (in the direction 72 which moves away from the first side wall 16b), the sleeve is less raised than in a the second side surface region 76 which holds the bottle against an incline in a direction 74 parallel to the first side wall 16b.

In the sleeve 54a shown in Fig. 12, which has an essentially diamond-shaped cross-section, a tip of which points in the direction of the first side wall 16b, the backward sloping avoidance function is thus also performed by a the first delimiting surface region 75, which encloses the sleeve essentially in the direction parallel to the first side wall 16b. A second delimiting surface region 76 delimiting the sleeve 54b in the direction of the first side wall 16b prevents tilting of the bottle parallel to the first side wall 16b. The first side surface region 75 is lower than the second side surface region 76 to allow forward leaning upon withdrawal of a bottle, without it being necessary to lift the bottle to a point such as to possibly push the bottom of another box stacked on the relevant box. The second delimiting surface region 76, however, avoids tilting in the direction parallel to the first side wall 16b and may therefore be larger in order to increase stability. Generally, both the sleeves 54a and 54b as well as the sleeves 54c provide maximum stability while permitting stripping by the front side, as the sleeves show in the direction parallel to the side wall, a greater height lower than in the direction perpendicular to the side wall.

In addition, the sleeves in Fig. 12 are provided with outer delimiting surfaces which are curved in concavity between the ends of the essentially diamond-shaped base shape, wherein the radius of curvature corresponds essentially to the diameter of a bottle , in order to retain the bottle more safely.

While in the above text, it is discussed primarily in the context of beverage racks, other embodiments of the present invention are, of course, possible to use for other types of products. For example, with the cartons according to the invention, beverage cans, as well as any other cylindrical objects, such as hair sprays, deodorants or the like may be carried. Further, with a side opening, the cartons also suit completely different types of products, which may also deviate from a cylindrical base shape. The cartons are used universally for all types of products, since they allow the products in the stacked state to even be removed from the carton laterally. This principal advantage is not limited to the type of goods transported.

Box (10), with a bottom (12); at least two pairs of side walls opposing each other (14a, 14b, 16a, 16b), wherein a first of the sidewalls (16b) projects upwardly from the bottom (12) in a vertical direction (20), which is smaller than the height of one or more of the remaining side walls (14a, 14b, 16a) to define a side opening having a dimension that allows access and the removal of products contained in the carton (10) through the side opening; and a movable side wall (23), which is rotatably mounted with respect to the first side wall (16b) and is movable between a folded position, wherein the movable side wall (23) is folded down and overlapped on the first side wall 16b, and an upwardly unfolded position, in which the movable side wall region 23 is disposed on the first side wall 16b and projects in the vertical direction 18 upwardly over the first side wall (16b), characterized in that the first side wall (16b) is fixed, and the remaining side walls (14a, 14b, 16a) not corresponding to the first side wall (16b) are arranged movable relative to the bottom (12) in such a way that they can be folded in the direction of the bottom (12) to a folded state, in which they are essentially parallel to the bottom (12), and the movable side wall region (23), in the folded up position, if projected to a certain height which is smaller than the height of one of the remaining side walls (14a, 14b, 16a). A housing (10) according to claim 1, wherein the first side wall (16b) comprises one or two side wall sections extending away from one of the adjacent side walls, towards the side opening, and have a height which is greater than the withdrawal height (20). A housing (10) according to claim 1 or 2, with a first pair of short side walls (14a, 14b) and a second pair of long side walls (16a, 16b), wherein the first side wall ( 16b) is one of the long side walls (16a, 16b). A housing (10) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the side walls (14a, 14b) adjacent the first side wall (16b) respectively have a grip opening (28a, 28b) for lifting the (28a, 28b) has a first opening region, which projects parallel to the bottom, and a second opening region, located on the side of the grip opening (28a, 28b) which faces the first side wall 16b and extends essentially vertically, wherein the opening regions 28a, 28b on the non-facing side 12 overlap in a region of overlapping with a curvature, allowing a gripping of the box also in the overlapping region. A carton (10) according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the bottom (12) has, in a region adjacent the first side wall (16b), a support surface for the products to be transported, which is larger than a predetermined bearing surface along the entire bottom (12). A housing (10) according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the side walls (14a, 14b) adjacent the first side wall (16b) have, at their end adjacent the first side wall, a first, less than a second height at its opposite end, wherein the height of the side walls (14a, 14b) adjacent the first side wall (16b) continuously increases from the first height to the second height. A box (10) according to one of claims 1 to 6, wherein a plurality of sleeves (22a, 22b) are arranged in the bottom (12) of the carton (10), which are formed in such a way that they can retain bottles arranged in the box. A housing (10) according to claim 7, wherein the height of the sleeves (22a, 22b) in the vertical direction (18) does not exceed the withdrawal height (20) of the first side wall (16b). A housing (10) according to claim 8 or 9, wherein the sleeves (22a, 22b) have an outer delimiting surface, which projects upwardly in the vertical direction (18) from the bottom (12), whose height varies along the outer periphery of the sleeves. The housing (10) of claim 9, wherein the at least one sleeve (22a) has a delimiting surface region (75) delimiting the sleeve (22a), in a direction parallel to the first side wall (16b ) having a height smaller than a second delimiting surface region (76) delimiting the sleeve (22a) in the direction of the first side wall (16b). A housing (10) as claimed in any one of claims 7 to 10, wherein the demarcating surface of the sleeve (22a) has a substantially diamond-shaped cross-section parallel to the bottom, wherein one of the diamond tips points toward the first side wall 16b. A box (10) according to claim 11, wherein the outer delimiting surface of the sleeve (22a) is curved in concavity between the diamond shaped cross-tips. The housing (10) according to claim 12, wherein the radius of curvature approximately corresponds to the radius of a body of a body to be retained in the housing.
