Description

PLThe subject of the invention is a method of normalizing seamless pipes made of carbon steel. It is known to normalize carbon steel pipes by heating them to the austenitizing temperature in the range of 850 to 950 ° C in flame or electric furnaces with a protective atmosphere and subsequent cooling to ambient temperature in protective gases or still air. Such furnaces are characterized by an uneven temperature distribution in the cross-section of the heating chamber, and the treated heat pipes are often underheated or overheated. Hence, after the normalization procedure, a relatively large percentage of products have a structure that is significantly different from the required one, which causes their mechanical properties to fall below the permissible values. An additional disadvantage of such a method of normalization is the high energy consumption of the process. The essence of the invention consists in the fact that for the normalization of seamless pipes made of carbon steel, shock heating is used, the induction method in the temperature range from 950 to 1100 ° C, with heating rates from 500 to 2000 ° C / sec. and the relative speed of the pipe through the inductor from 0.3dol.0m / sec. The range of heating temperatures depends on the type of steel the pipes are made of. Higher temperatures are used for low carbon steel pipes. The speed of pipe travel through the inductor and the speed of their heating depend in turn on the power and frequency of the generator, as well as the cross-sectional area of the heat treated pipe. For example, cold-rolled and cold-drawn pipe 32 mrn in diameter and 3 mm thick, made of K 18 grade steel, achieves the best properties after austentizing at 1000 ° C, realized in a slotted inductor powered by a 1 MVA generator and, frequency of 2.4 KHz, at a heating rate of 700 ° C / sec and a relative speed of travel through the inductor 0.3 m / sec. In order to avoid excessive losses of material due to gangrene, cooling of the pipes after the austenitizing treatment should be carried out in two stages * First, up to approx. 500 ° C in a muffle with protective atmosphere, 9 99 243 and then in calm or compressed air. Normalizing annealed pipes thus obtain higher mechanical properties as a result of a significant fragmentation of the structure. Surface loosening of the pipe and material losses due to gangrene are also avoided. In addition, significant energy savings are achieved and working conditions are improved. PL
