Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent decarbonization during cooling process after discharging a steel from a heat treatment furnace and to restrain deterioration of quality, such as lowering of fatigue resistance of the steel by specifying starting temp. of forced cooling and cooling speed to the specific temp. after completing spheroidizing heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:In the spheroidizing heat treatment of the steel, after completing the spheroidizing heat treatment, the starting temp. of forced cooling is to be in the range of the temp. from the Ar1 transformation point to Ar1 point -10 deg.C and is cooled at >=0.1 deg.C/sec cooling speed with the coolant to the Ar1 point -100 deg.C. For this purpose, the heat treatment furnace arranging forced cooling equipment with the coolant continuously connected with the spheroidizing heat treatment furnace, is used. For example, wire rod coil 1 as material to be cooled is carried and spheroidized in the spheroidizing heat treatment furnace 4. The treated wire rod coil 1 sis held in N2 gas atmosphere in a gas exchanging chamber 7 and after the coil 1 is lowered to the prescribed starting temp. for rapid cooling, the coil is dipped into the water cooling pit 13 with a hoist 12 and after cooling to the prescribed finishing temp. for cooling, it is lifted up and carried to out of the furnace.
