Przyklad. Przez roztwór wodny 242 g teref¬ talanu potasowego przepuszczono w ciagu go¬ dziny CO2. Wytracony kwas tereftalowy odsaczono, przemyto i wysuszono.Otrzymano 160 g kwasu tereftalowego co stanowi 96,5% teorii. Przesacz zawierajacy ftalan jedmo- patasowy i wode z przemywania kwasu terefta¬ lowego polaczono z otrzymanym poprzednio roz¬ tworem kwasnego weglanu potasowego, odpa- rdwano do sucha i wysuszono do stalej wagi. Do¬ wodzi to, ze 99,3°/o pierwotnej ilosci potasu zwia¬ zanego z kwasem ftalowym zregenerowalo sie* PLPublished on 24 May 1961 Co9c CSfla £ ^ BIBLIOTBlCAl _U «edu fowr.lou- ,. iMJHfcmmlUI ^ AND OF THE POLISH PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC PATENT DESCRIPTION No. 44573 KI. 12 o, 14 Institute of General Chemistry *) Warsaw, Poland The method of potassium regeneration in the process of isomerization of potassium phthalate to potassium tereflalate The patent is valid from September 9, 1959 The subject of the invention is a method of potassium regeneration in the isomerization of potassium phthalate to potassium terephthalate . This process is carried out in order to obtain free terephthalic acid from the formed potassium terephthalate, which is an intermediate product. For economic reasons, potassium should remain in the production cycle, that is, it must be transferred from the isomerization reaction product to the substrate of this reaction. according to the invention, it consists in treating the potassium terephthalate in a carbon dioxide solution. The resulting sparingly soluble monopotassium terephthalate is separated from the acidic potassium carbonate solution and treated in the solution with an equal amount of the acid or phthalic anhydride. The resulting monopotassium phthalate solution is separated *). The owner of the patent stated that the inventor was Stanislaw Grzelczyk. from the precipitate of terephthalic acid, it is combined with the previously obtained acidic potassium carbonate solution and evaporated to give potassium phthalate for re-isomerization. 242 g of potassium terephthalate were passed through the aqueous solution with CO2 for one hour. After this time, the precipitate of monopotassium terephthalate was filtered off the acidic potassium carbonate solution and transferred to a hot phthalic acid solution. The precipitated terephthalic acid was filtered off, washed and dried. 160 g of terephthalic acid was obtained, 96.5% of theory. The slurry containing monophthalate phthalate and terephthalic acid wash water was combined with the previously obtained acid potassium carbonate solution, dried and dried to a constant weight. Analysis of the obtained precipitate showed that it contained 111.2 g of potassium in converted to KOH. This proves that 99.3% of the original amount of potassium associated with phthalic acid was regenerated.
