Abstract

The skid for a transportation case, pallet or suchlike is constructed from several similar or diametrically opposed elements (12a-12d) which are fitted together to form a skid. The skid elements on their end sections are equipped with toes (41,42) disposed at right angles, whereby the skid elements and/or the toes are hollow in construction, and the toes have honeycomb structure reinforcements (44). The hollow cavity of the skid elements may be trapezoidal or arc-shaped.

Description

Description of the invention

The invention relates to a skid for a transport box, pallet or the like.

A stackable transport box of this type is known, for example, from EP-A-0 876 963. This box has a flap in its side walls pivoting around a horizontal axis. The swivel flap is pivotally connected to a feed member which is secured in a corresponding cutout in the side wall. The bottom of the transport box at the corners and in the middle is equipped with vertical supports mounted on a square support frame. It is a uniform and massive support frame.

Such a support frame must have sufficient mechanical stability as it must withstand a load of more than 1000 kg, and therefore it should have a certain thickness and width. For transport boxes larger than 1 meter by 1 meter, particularly large dies are needed to produce them. In addition, supports must be welded to such a support frame or glued with a synthetic glue of very high strength.

US-A-5,735,431 discloses another stackable transport box which consists of a support skeleton with vertical supports and a cellular bottom plate. Side walls with oblong openings are situated between these supports. The supports protruding under the bottom plate are connected to each other by three parallel skids with a length corresponding to the length of the transport box. Both extreme skids are flat, while the middle skids are arched.

The longitudinal skids provided in this transport box give the box the necessary stability and easy handling, but they can cause the box to tilt or twist on transport devices such as conveyor belts or similar conveyors. Again, relatively large dies are required for the manufacture of the skids, and the skids must be welded to the supports or glued with high-strength glue.

Publication No. WO-A-01/76960 describes a transport box which has as a support frame a forklift handle having corner elements. The grip comprises two gripping elements of the same design, which are U-shaped and whose corners are shaped as dovetail ends, so that both gripping elements can be joined into a square or rectangle. The forklift handle should prevent the container from tipping over from the pair of forks of the forklift truck when the container is lifted from the raised position or from the stack.

There has therefore been a need to develop a skid for a transport box, pallet or the like that is extremely stable, easy to manufacture and quickly replaceable.

A skid for a transport box, pallet or the like according to the invention, made of plug-in skid elements which are made of an elongated support member having at its ends transversely fitted spheres to be received by slots in the hollow supports of the transport box or pallet, is characterized by the following: that the skid elements are identical or mirror-image each other, and the support member is hollow.

Preferably, the kulaks are hollow and have cellular reinforcements.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the recess in the skid elements is trapezoidal or arched.

Preferably, the skid elements are provided with flat longitudinal ribs.

The skid elements are preferably plug-in together at their ends into a skid by means of couplings.

Moreover, preferably, one of the ends of the skid element is inclined and forms a right angle with a corresponding inclined end of the other skid element.

Preferably, these ends are graded slanted.

The great advantage of this invention is that the skids consist of interconnected elements whose size facilitates their handling and assembly. The fact that the skid elements are hollow (having recesses) makes it possible to reduce their weight considerably and still maintain their necessary strength.

The subject of the invention is shown in the embodiment in the drawing, in which fig. 1 shows a rack container with runners, fig. 2 - a pallet with runners, fig. 3 - runner elements for a rack container box, disconnected and viewed from below, and Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the same skid elements in Fig. 3.

In the individual figures, the same elements have been given the same reference numerals and the first explanations apply to all figures, unless expressly stated otherwise.

1 shows a stackable transport box 1 with a bottom plate 2, four side walls 3, 4, 5 and 6 and supports 8 in the corners 9 and with supports 10 in the middle between the two corners 9. Fig. 2 shows a pallet 20 made of a hard plastic such as polypropylene (PP) or the like. At the corners 21, the pallet 20 has supports 22 shaped as pipe stubs with an elongated octagonal cross-section. On the shorter sides 23 of the pallet 20, the same supports 24 are disposed between the supports 22. Moreover, further supports 25 are provided between the supports 22 and 24 in the form of tubular connectors with an octagonal cross-section. Along the long sides 27, runner elements 28a and 28b are inserted into the recess supports 22 and 25, similar to Fig. 1. Both runner elements 28a and 28b are identically shaped, i.e. have a hollow ball bearing at the outer end corresponding to the internal dimension of the support 22 and a hollow kulak 30 at the inner end. The kulak 30 corresponds to half the internal cross-section of the support 25, so that the internally positioned balls 30 of the runner elements 28a and 28b together exactly fill the recess support 25. The runner members 28a and 28b themselves have recesses and are connected to each other via a connector not shown. As can be seen, the skid elements 28a and 28b have flat longitudinal ribs 31 about 2-3 mm high. The middle supports 24 and 25 are fitted with similarly shaped pivots 32 with ribs 33 of the cells, which ribs have the same height as the skid elements 28a and 28b. The bottom plate 35 of the pallet 20 is also provided with ribs 36 for reinforcement.

Figures 3 and 4 show the skid elements 12 of the transport box 1. These are either a short element 12a mirrorically short element 12b, or a long element 12c mirrorically long element 12d. In this case, the skid elements 12 consist of an elongated, hollow support member 40 and an inner ball 41 and an outer ball 42. The inner ball 41 and the outer ball 42 are formed as pipe stubs and have a cellular reinforcement 44. The skid elements 12 are connected to each other at the same time. middle with connectors 43 that engage the cavities of the support members 40. The two outer spheres 42 of the short element 12a and the opposing long element 12d are also mirrored and are provided with a serrated rebate 45a or 45d. The skid elements 28 of the pallet 20 are constructed similarly to the skid elements 12 of the transport box 1.

To reinforce the skid elements 12 or 28, glass fiber-reinforced rods can be inserted, which fit snugly in the recesses of the support members 40. The rods can also be formed of aluminum or steel. This makes it possible to further increase the mechanical strength of the runner elements 12 or 28. The rods can also be formed of couplings 43, which then have a length similar to that of the runner members 12 or 28. To further stabilize the structure, the recesses in the support members 40 may be subdivided not discussed here. further longitudinal ribs into further recesses.
