Abstract
Se describen composiciones para ajustar el pH del agua de mar para que sean utiles en los procesos de flotacion de metales, al igual que los metodos que utilizan tales composiciones. La precipitacion de sales de magnesio insolubles interfiere con el ajuste del pH del agua de mar cuando se utilizan fuentes convencionales de CaO y/o Ca(OH)2; sin embargo, la adicion de particulas no reactivas (como materiales de desecho de procesos industriales) permite el uso de fuentes de baja calidad de CaO / Ca(OH)2 y reduce el consumo de CaO / Ca(OH)2 de alta calidad para este proposito.
