Abstract
Se refiere a la oxidacion e inmovilizacion de arsenico trivalente de soluciones que contienen arsenico. El proceso incluye la oxidacion de especies de arsenico trivalente (As3+) al estado pentavalente (As5+). Se utiliza un aditivo de carbono (por ejemplo, carbon activado) y oxigeno para promover los procesos de oxidacion del arsenico. Despues de la oxidacion del arsenico al estado pentavalente, el arsenico puede separarse por precipitacion a arseniato ferrico o arseniato de calcio u otros compuestos que contengan arsenico conocidos en la tecnica. La oxidacion del arsenico tambien puede ocurrir simultaneamente con la produccion y precipitacion de arseniato ferrico (por ejemplo, escorodita).
