Abstract
Det er beskrevet en fremgangsmåte for drift av et feiladministrasjonssystem for et tilgangsnett som utgjør en del av et offentlig telekommunikasjons-nett. l tilgangsnettet strekker abonnentlinjer i form av par med koppertråder, seg fra en lokalsentral 10 gjennom en rekke nodertil terminalutstyr anordnet for en bruker av nettet. Feil- administrasjonssystemet innbefatter et testhode (104) og et tilgangsnett-administrasjonssystem (102). Hver natt utfører testhodet (104) en rekke tester på hver av abonnentlinjene. Resultatene av testen blir overført til tilgangsnett- administrasjonssystemet (102). Testresultatene blir så konvertert til linjepoengsummer som hver indikerer den driftsmessige kvaliteten av den testede linje. For hver node blir linjepoengsummene for de testede linjer som passerer gjennom noden, kombinert for å tilveiebringe en nodepoengsum som indikerer nodens driftsmessige kvalitet. For å identifisere den node som har den verste driftsmessige kvalitet, og derfor mest sannsynlig må undersøkes, blir nodene rangert i samsvar med sine nodepoengsummer.
