Abstract
Fremgangsmåte for ombygging av et væskeførende tankfartøy, slik som en oljetanker, og det ombygde fartøyet hvorved et tankfartøy som er konstruert med et enkelt bunnskrog er ombygd til en dobbelbunnskrog-utforming i det minste over skrogpartiet som innbefatter lastetankene, og det ombygde fartøyet som derved oppnås. Det opprinnelige skroget er adskilt ved et punkt hvor baugkurven møter midtskips-seksjonen av skroget. En ny seksjon er innsatt hvilken følger krumnin- gen av den opprinnelige baugen, og øker både bredden og dypgangen. En ny dobbel bunn er påført over det gjenværende av det lastetankbærende rommet til skroget, som er konet inn for å møte kurven til akterseksjonen. Denne nye seksjo- nen kan fabrikkeres med, eller uten, en dobbel bunn, avhengig av dens beregne- de bruk.
