Abstract

Oppfinnelsen er rettet mot behandling av avløpsvann og andre forurensede materialer. En forbindelse med den generelle formel (20)nAln(OH)n.mClm (eller en nært beslektet empi- risk formel) , hvor Z er avledet fra et alumino- silikat-materiale, fremstilles ved å aktivere alu- minosilikat-materialet ved behandling med syre eller ved at materialet gjennomgår ammonium-ione- bytte, og så oppvarmes det således aktiverte mate- riale i nærvær av en aluminiumforbindelse. Det foretrukne aluminosilikat er et zeolittholdig mine- ral med en clinoptilolitt-struktur og den fore- trukne aluminiumforbindelse er polyaluminiumklorid. Det resulterende produkt er pH-nøytralt, ikke-tok- sisk, egnet for anvendelse i flotasjons- og sedi- menteringstanker, det destabiliserer suspensjoner, dispersjoner og emulsjoner, kan anvendes over et vidt pH-område, er amfotaert og spesielt egnet for eliminering av tungmetall-kationer og fosfat-an- ioner, det reduserer kjemisk oksygenmangel, biolo- gisk oksygenmangel, og absorberbare, organiske, halogenerte hydrokarboner, samt farer til en minsk- ning i mengden av slam under samtidig økning i tørrstoff-innholdet, det sveller ikke, er økonomisk å anvende og er ikke skadelig for miljøet.
