Abstract

Det blir beskrevet en fremgangsmåte for samprosessering av brukt salpetersyre-vaskevann med organiske eller biologiske avfall under våtoksydasjonsbetingelser, hvor nltrogeninnholdet til avfallet og det kjemiske oksygenbehovet og nitrogeninnholdet til salpetersyre- vaskevannet og det organiske eller biologiske avfallet blir betydelig redusert. Salpetersyre-vaskevannet er avfall strammen som blir dannet ved avkalking av våt- oksydasjonsreaktorer som blir brukt ved behandling av organisk eller biologisk avfall, spesielt husholdnings- avfall. Fremgangsmåten ifølge foreliggende oppfinnelse kan bli utført med konvensjonelt utstyr over bakken, eller en underjordisk reaktor nede i en brønn som har en vertikal konfigurasjon som benytter navlgajons- krefter for å gi et høytrykksreaksjonsmiljø. Salpeter- syre-vaskevannet og det organiske avfallet blir reagert med et oksyderingsmiddel ved en temperatur over 150* C og et trykk som er tilstrekkelig for å holde vannet l væskefase. Salpetersyre-vaskevannet blir blandet med det organiske avfallet, eller blir introdusert sammen med oksyderingsmidlet (fortrinnsvis oksygengass) ved innløpet på en slik måte at gassen med vanndamp og den gjenværende syren gir en væskefilm, slik at det hovedsakelig ikke er "tørre flekker" i oksyderings- middel-innslippsrøret.
