Et middel for tildannelse av sfæroider av hepatocytter, omfattende et kovalent lipidbundet glykosaminoglukan, og en dyrkingsprosess for tildannelse av sfæroidene. Hepatocyttsfæroider kan tildannes ved å dyrke hepatocytter i en dyrkingsbeholder under anvendelse av et lipidbundet glykosaminoglukan som et dyrkingssubstrat. Flytende sfæroider av hepatocytter som er istand til å opprettholde leverspesifikke funksjoner og å holde sfæroidformen stabil i 1 en lengre tidsperiode kan oppnås på en effektiv måte.
