Nukleinsyreprimere med sekvenser komplementære til deler av genet som koder for et delvis konservert område i flagellin hos B. burgåorfer±, benyttes til amplifisering av målnukleinsyre- sekvenser ekstrahert fra områder infi- sert med Lyme-borreliose, som så ana- lyseres med en nukleinsyreindikator konjugert til signaldannende molekyler for svært spesifikk påvisning av B. burgdorferi.
