Abstract
Foreliggende oppfinnelse angår en fremgangsmåte for fjerning av en kjerne fra et støpt produkt hvor kjernen er formet av et partikkel-inert materiale, slik som sand, bundet sammen av et herdet bindemiddel av et vannoppløselig karbohydrat alene eller blandet med et silikat. Silikatet er fortrinnsvis et alkalisk jordmetall-silikat, fortrinnsvis natriumsilikat, og karbohydratet er fortrinnsvis et sakkarid eller en stivelse. Bindemiddelet herdes ved oppvarming. Kjernen og det støpte produktet utsettes for vann, fortrinnsvis oppvarmet vann, i et bad eller damp, for hurtig å adskille kjernen og fjerne den fra det støpte produkt.
