Abstract
Oppfinnelsen vedrører en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av en transformert plantecelle. Spesielt involverer fremgangsmåten transformeringen av en plantecelle med en transformasjonskassett som er målrettet mot planteplastider og som omfatter et seleksjonsgen, f.ek. isopentenyltransferase (IPT), og et transgen. Etter seleksjon for transformerte plastider blir uttrykking av rekombinase indusert i plantecellen, noe som fører til utkuttingen av seleksjonsgenet fra plastidet og uttrykkingen av transgenet i plastidet. Oppfinnelsen tilveiebringer også celler og planter som omfatter transformasjonskassetten.
